Joey Cipriano Looking For First SK Modified® Victory in NAPA SK 5k

etrdhfg(Stafford Springs, CT)—After winning 7 races in 2 seasons of SK Light competition at Stafford Speedway, Waterbury native Joey Cipriano is still in search of his first victory in the track’s premier SK Modified® division. Cipriano has had several other close calls, such as last Friday night when he was dueling with Ryan Preece for the win before the two cars ended up in the turn 4 wall coming to the white flag. Cipriano and his #84 AVI International team have been busy at their shop this week, putting their car back together and Cipriano says that a win this Friday night would be huge for his team on so many levels.

Rowan Pennink Ready to Defend NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k Title

etrdhfg(Stafford Springs, CT)—Racing can be a fickle game and one needs to look no further than Rowan Pennink and the #99 Van Wickle NAPA Auto Supply SK Modified® team at Stafford Motor Speedway to see how fortunes can change in the course of a calendar year. Pennink joined the #99 team prior to the start of the 2014 season and things couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start. In 7 races, Pennink’s best finish was 18th and he missed two of those races completely. But their fortunes turned for the better starting with their win in last year’s NAPA SK 5k. In the 21 SK Modified® races run at Stafford since that win, Pennink has recorded 10 wins, 17 top-5, and 19 top-10 finishes. His 5 wins this season already match the 5 wins he accumulated last season and he heads into this year’s NAPA SK 5k as the point leader in the SK Modified division and full of confidence that he can repeat his SK 5k victory.

WEST HAVEN, VT – Local stock car drivers will feel double the pressure at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday night, July 10, as The Rutland Herald presents the annual Mid-Season Championships at 7:30 p.m. Point values will be doubled, making every position twice as critical in all four divisions of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere.

Because of the greater point values, the Mid-Season Championship is viewed by many as a “make or break” event that sets up the second-half stretch drive toward the titles. The winners of Friday night’s feature events will score 100 points toward the championship, with each subsequent position decreasing by four points. Preliminary heat races are each worth 10 points to win.
