ACT officials have announced a 14-race schedule for the 2013 American Canadian Tour season at eleven different Northeast short tracks. The schedule will include three new additions to the Tour schedule. There will also be three more non-point counting special events during the 2013 campaign.
The Tour will return to 2012 tracks Lee USA Speedway, Thunder Road, Devil’s Bowl Speedway, Airborne Speedway, White Mountain Motorsports Park, and Beech Ridge Speedway in 2013. A visit to Riverside Speedway in Groveton, NH is planned for a 150-lap event on Sunday, June 2nd, and will mark the first time ACT has raced there since 2004. The American Canadian Tour will also head to Canaan Fair Speedway on Saturday, June 15th for the first time since 2005, and has set a date for Star Speedway on Saturday, July 6, last visited in 2003.

Waterbury, VT – Série ACT Castrol, in conjunction with the promoters of Autodrome Montmagny, Riverside Speedway, and Autodrome St Eustache, have come together to create an ambitious schedule for the 2013 season. The new schedule boasts over $400,000 in prize and purse money, and will offer many exciting new bonuses.
All Late Model racers are welcome for the increased purse money that will be offered throughout the 12-race program, but an additional bonus will be added for those competitors who choose to race 100% of the Series. An $80,000 point fund will be offered for competitors that participate in every race of the series, as well as another $80,000 in tire bonus money that will be spread equally among all 100% teams.

CENTRE for Speed was once again the host of the Atlantic Stock Car Championships this past weekend. One hundred and twenty five teams competed in this years “racing celebration” from throughout Atlantic Canada including the largest number of team from Newfoundland since the events inception at a total of 4 in Sportsman, Bandolero, and Pro Stock divisions. The total car count was an improvement over 2011 due mainly to the absence of rain and spurred by mild temperatures on all three days. Registered competitors totaled 143 with 18 “no shows” due mainly to a rain date conflict at another contributing speedway.

Shediac’s CENTRE for Speed is set to host the Maritimes largest ever Monster Truck Racing event this weekend. In keeping with its MONSTER TRUCK mantra of “Go Big or Stay Home” CFS has amassed field of seven Monster Trucks for it’s 4th annual D.R. Scrap Atlantic MONSTER Nationals which will run this Saturday and Sunday. Trucks include some of the worlds best MONSTER JAM competitors including several world record holders such as Jon Zimmer (in his new “Excalibur” Truck), RB Moler in WV Mountaineer, and Mike Vaters in “Black Stallion”. Other trucks include Jeff Bursey’s “Towasauruswrex” and Tim Mente’s “Storm Damage” plus Hurricane Force. Iron Warrior rounds out the field of seven with Mike Vaters Jr at the helm and looking to make a name for himself. Iron Warrior replaces Higher Education who was originally scheuled to appear until the truck suffered a major engine failure in a show last weekend. The speedway says it has added some height to a few jumps and some additional infield elements to facilitate the Wheelie and Freestyle events and is hoping to continue to build on the success of last years show. St-Eustache, QC – St-Denis, Quebec’s Patrick Laperle claimed his second straight Série ACT Castrol Championship with his fourth win of the season in the St-Eustache 300 at Autodrome St-Eustache on Sunday, September 16. Laperle cruised to the win leading the final 50 laps of the event after getting by Jonathan Bouvrette who held on for second. Karl Allard climbed his way back to third after bringing out a caution on lap 277 and restarting at the rear. Dany Trepanier and Patrick Hamel completed the top five.
Rookie Etienne Cliche finished sixth as the final car on the lead lap. Martin Goulet, Jr., Simon Roussin, David Michaud and Jacques Poulin completed the top ten. Second place point man Jean-Franoiçois Déry was involved in an early caution and spent an extended period of time on pit road changing a radiator and making front end repairs, which ended his title hopes. He finished fourteenth, thirty laps down.

Crazy Horse Driver Stamps Mark On ACT Castrol Series With Victory
SAINT EDOUARD, Quebec – Dany Trepanier visited Mitch Green before the start of the 2011 ACT Castrol Series season and promised him one thing.
“I will be annoying,” Trepanier told the owner of Crazy Horse Racing.
Trepanier was coming off a rookie season in the ACT Castrol Series, and the veteran of the Sportsman ranks and an eight-year go-karting career needed some help. He works with a small crew on the No. 19 Trepanier Motorsports Ford Fusion – including himself as both crew chief and driver – and wanted somebody to help him find more speed.
