To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best: Pro Stock 150 goes Saturday at Speedway 660!

The Best of the Best Pro Stock 150 highlights a full evening of racing at Speedway 660. On Saturday, beginning at 7pm, five racing divisions see action and the evening will end in a Victory Lane celebration for one winning pro stock driver.

“The Best of the Best is really one of our most important races of the year because the winning driver gets an automatic starting position in the Auto Value 250, come SPEEDWEEKEND” said Speedway 660’s Chris Johnston. “The Pro All Star Series in the States and the Maritime Parts for Trucks Tour are both off this weekend, so we expect some of those teams to be here for the Best of the Best.”

Pat Sharpe Lands on Roof Before Winning First Enduro of the of the Year at Speedway 660

Pat Sharpe got off to a great start in defense of his Enduro championship at Speedway 660 on Saturday night. Sharpe claimed the first Enduro 200 of the racing season with a dramatic win. The Woodstock driver was leading late in the race when second place Chuck Mercer spun him out and rolled him over with just two laps to go. The red flag came out, Sharpe’s car was rolled back onto its wheels and went into the pits where a windshield was replaced and a flat tire replaced. The defending Enduro champ had a five lap lead on the field at the time and got back on the track in time to claim the first Enduro of the year.

“My pit crew is an amazing group, they never give up and when I went into the pits they flew into action and got me back on the track for the win” said a jubilant Pat Sharpe. “We are going for our fourth Enduro championship in a row and this is a great way to start the season.”

ACT: Dery Stays Hot, Capitalizes in Riverside 150

St-Croix – Quebec City’s Jean Francois Dery dominated the field on the way to his second victory in a row in the Riverside 150 at Circuit Riverside Speedway in St-Croix, QC on Saturday, July 14. Dery battled all race long with hometown heroes Dany Trepanier and Patrick Hamel who came home second and third respectively.

The first 75 lap segment of two was dominated early by St-Edouard, QC’s Trepanier who started from the second position. A lap 31 caution restart, however, brought Dery to the front of segment one. Trepanier battled back on the inside lane on lap 35, reclaiming the lead for eight more laps, until a lap 44 restart brought Dery to the front row once again. Dery took off once again on the restart, leading until Trepanier took the lead for good on lap 54.

Fahey Dominates Pro Stock Feature at Speedway 660

Charlotte County’s Greg Fahey had a big night at Speedway 660 on Saturday, winning the A.L. Gullison Disaster Kleenup Pro Stock feature during the Coca-Cola Refreshments Weekly Points Series event. Point’s leader Dave O’Blenis came home second and Derek Christie was third. Brian Gillespie won his heat race and the dash, while Jordan Gahan won the other heat race.

Jason Shannon won his first feature of the year in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman Division. Shannon took the win over Shawn MacLean and point’s leader Randy Moore who finished second and third. Matt Rodgers won the dash and his heat race, while Robert Raynes took the checkers in the other heat.

Dery Wins in Dramatic Fashion at Autodrome St-Eustache

ACT American Canadian Tour Quebec City’s Jean-Francois Dery found redemption with a huge victory at Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, QC on Saturday, July 7. Dery had to fend off a challenge from former Serie ACT Castrol Champion Sylvain Lacombe, as well as a late-race charge from defending champion Patrick Laperle in third.

St. Jean Chrysostome’s Patrick Cliche took the early lead from veteran racer Claude Leclerc on lap ten of the 100 lap event, and dominated the next 23 circuits before defending champion Laperle was brought to his outside on a lap 33 caution flag. Laperle surged ahead of the field on the restart, looking well on his way to his second win in a row on the Serie ACT Castrol, but on lap 79 of the event Laperle had a fuel filler hose come loose and was forced to head down pit road.
