Richard Atkinson is still looking for his first Speedway 660 feature victory of the year. But the popular Geary driver is making a habit of finishing on the podium in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman Division. On Saturday night Atkinson finished second for the second straight week in the 30 lap Sportsman feature. Two weeks ago Atkinson finished third. Brent Roy won the race over Atkinson, while Glyn Nott came home third. Mark Harris won his sportsman heat and the dash, while Dave Biggar won the other heat.
“I really don’t know what to say, this is an unbelievable run for the third straight week” said Atkinson. “Three podium finishes at Speedway 660 is a big accomplishment for us and we hope to have another one next week at the Martin’s Home Heating hundred lapper.”

Déry has come out of the gate on fire in 2012 dominating the opening event before settling for third and backing it up with another third place finish at Autodrome Chaudiere. Déry is searching for his first ACT Série Castrol Championship, but two-time Champion Donald Theetge has put the heat on following a victory at Autodrome Chaudiere which vaulted him from mid pack to just two points out of the lead in second.
Only 12 points back is up-and-comer Dany Trepanier, who nearly took the win from Theetge and finds himself in third place in the overall standings. Karl Allard follows in fourth after his opening day victory, and David Michaud rounds out the top five.

Speedway 660 has become Johnny Clark’s home away from home. The Hallowell, Maine driver led the field to the checkered flag, winning his 3rd straight Pro All Star Series 200 in the Geary Woods. The 2010 and 2011 race winner dominated the second half of Sunday’s race to take the victory in car 54.
“I love this place and we took a big swing at the car at the mid-race break and the boys in the crew did an awesome job” said Clark. “We’ll definitely be back here for SpeedWeekend and try to become the first driver to win three Auto Value 250 races.”
Travis Benjamin, from Morrill, Maine, stayed with Clark for much of the final 100 laps, but was just not able to get around the race winner. Cassius Clark, from Skowhegan, Maine beat Johnny Clark on an exciting last lap pass in their heat race, but settled for third in the feature. D.J. Donald Theetge of Boischatel, QC scored a win in the Série ACT Castrol 150 lap event at Autodrome Chaudiere on Saturday, June 9. Theetge led the final six laps of the event after dominant leader Patrick Laperle suffered heartbreak when he broke a driveshaft joint on lap 144. Dany Trepanier followed Theetge to the line for second followed by Jean-François Déry.
Theetge and Laperle worked their way through the 26 car field from the twelfth and eleventh starting positions respectively. Theetge got around early leader Patrick Hamel on lap 37 and began making his way through heavy lap traffic over a long green flag run. Laperle took the lead in the outside lane following a lap 70 restart and appeared to have the car to beat as he dominated for the next 70 laps. He appeared to have the race in hand as he built a lead working his way through lap traffic, but he unexpectedly slowed coming down the front stretch on lap 144 and coasted to a stop at the top of turn 2 after his driveshaft failure.
