Patrick Laperle Wins Série ACT Castrol Edge NAPA Autopro 150 at Autodrome St-Felicien

St-Felicien, QC – St-Denis’ Patrick Laperle earned his third win of the 2010 Série ACT Castrol Edge in the NAPA Autopro 150 at Autodrome St-Felicien on Saturday, July 10. Laperle came from the 10th starting position but pitted several times in the early stages of the race for adjustments.

He worked his way back through the field to take the lead on lap 132 from hometown favorite Karl Allard. Allard also made several pit stops in the first half of the event to make repairs to his sway bar. Allard would hold on for second.

St-Jean-Chrystome’s Patrick Cliche came home third after starting in the fifth position. Claude Leclerc led the first 62 laps before fading to finish in fourth. Kevin Roberge rounded out the top five after working his way through the field from the 14th starting position.

Jimmy Cormier, Stephane Descoste, Alex Labbe, Jonathan Desbiens, and Yvon Bedard completed the top ten.

The 150 lap event was completed in one hour and twenty-eight minutes with just eight cautions for minor spins. Seventeen of the eighteen car field was on the track for the checkered flag and thirteen of the cars completed all 150 laps.

Laperle has already qualified for the second annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Seven drivers have already qualified; Laperle, Nick Sweet, Dave Pembroke, Karl Allard, Miles Chipman, Brian Hoar and Eddie MacDonald.

Daniel Descoste was disqualified from the event after a post race altercation.

The Série ACT Castrol Edge will head back to Circuit Riverside Speedway for their seventh event of the 2010 season on Saturday, July 26 for a 100 lap event.

MONSTER TRUCK weekend double header set for CFS – July 10 & 11

(Shediac, N.B.) — The Centre for Speed (CFS) is pulling out all the stops for its ‘ground rumbling’ double header MAPLE LEAF MONSTER MADNESS 2010 weekend on July 10 & 11.

On Saturday, July 10th at 7:00 p.m., the CENTRE will host a full slate of points championship racing in all four regular stock car divisions along with the Atlantic Open Wheel (AOW) Modifieds.

Maritime Sportsman 100 & AOW Tour – Results from CFS – July 4

Shediac, N.B.) — Long hours of work in the shop this week paid off in spades for Ron Lane (#46) of Prosser Brook as he drove his Maritime Cash Super Sportsman race car to victory in the FERO Maritime Super Series for Sportsman 100 at the Centre for Speed (CFS),
Atlantic Canada’s Super Speedway and “Metro Moncton’s Playground of Power”.

“This makes it all worthwhile,” said a beaming Lane as he savored his first feature win at CFS in over two years. “It’s thanks to the hard work of my crewmembers and the heart and soul of this team, my dad who put in a lot of hours this week to put this car back together,” said Lane as he dedicated the win to his pit crew.

Karl Allard Wins Série ACT Castrol Edge Montmagny 250

Montmagny, QC – St-Felicien’s Karl Allard earns his third straight Série ACT Castrol Edge event in the Montmagny 250 at Autdrome Montmagny on Saturday, July 3. Allard came from the thirteenth starting position and took the lead on lap 64. He would lead the remainder of the 250 lap event. Sylvain Lacombe took second while Jonathan Urlin earned third.

Rookie Alex Labbe finished fourth followed by Patrick Cliche rounding out the top five. Jimmy Cormier earned sixth, Jonathan Desbiens took seventh, Jean-François Déry finished eighth after leading the first 63 laps. Stephane Descoste and Daniel Descoste completed the top ten.

Legend Fraser Fall Just Short – Banks wins Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 100

Saturday night was saw some of the best sportsman cars from all over Atlantic Canada make their way to the Geary Woods for the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 100. The first big sportsman event of the year saw 26 cars try to qualify for 24 spots in the main event. Fans of the speedway were treated to some amazing weather to go along with the great on track racing. There was racing in four divisions on this night starting with the young guns in the Bandelero division.
