(Stafford Springs, CT)—For the third consecutive season, Call Before You Dig will partner with Stafford Motor Speedway to offer one of the most unique contingency awards in all of short track racing. The CBYD 811 Challenge will award a total of $4,055 that will be split evenly among 5 drivers this season. The CBYD 811 Challenge is open to drivers from each of Stafford’s five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions and a special points system is used to determine the five drivers who will each receive an $811 bonus.

Drivers earn 100 points for a victory, and each subsequent position below first place is worth 5 points less. The CBYD 811 Challenge begins at the 44th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler on April 24-26 and culminates on August 7 with the Call Before You Dig 150. The five drivers who come the closest to accumulating 811 points without going over in that time period will each take home an $811 bonus from CBYD. Last year’s CBYD 811 Challenge winners were Ryan Preece from the SK Modified® division, David Arute and Austin Bessette from the Limited Late Model division, and David Comeau and Brandon Michael from the DARE Stock division. The 2013 CBYD 811 Challenge winners were Eric Berndt, Justin Bren, Ted Christopher, Todd Owen, and Cliff Saunders, making 10 different winners in the first two seasons of the CBYD 811 Challenge.

44th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler To Kick Off 2015 Season at Stafford Speedway

dasfasdfsd(Stafford Springs, CT)—When the green flag waves for the 44th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler on April 25 & 26, 2015, NAPA Auto Parts will be geared up for their second season with Stafford Motor Speedway. NAPA Auto Parts became the Elite Corporate Sponsor and the title sponsor of the track’s marque events, the NAPA Spring Sizzler, the NAPA Fall Final, and the uniquely formatted NAPA SK 5k, prior to the start of the 2014 season. All three races will return to the Stafford Speedway schedule in 2015, along with the fan friendly NAPA Pit Parties.

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (December 5, 2014) – Donny Lia and Mark Sypher have joined forces to run the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) in the No. 8 Chevrolet.

Lia, the 2007 and 2009 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion, is looking forward to this new opportunity. In late October, it was announced that the two-time champion would be parting ways with Mystic Missile Racing, which he had raced for since 2007.

“I’m really excited about this new challenge,” said Lia. “I want to thank Mark for his interest in partnering with me and for the opportunity to drive his cars. We’re really creating a new team from the ground up and it’s exciting to have this fresh start.”

Thompson, CT – Officials from Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) – the famed 5/8-mile speedway in Connecticut’s quiet corner – released a creative and innovative seven (7) event schedule today, featuring twelve different touring series and sanctioning bodies, and boasting over $500,000 in posted awards. Two weekend events, and a five event Wednesday summer series – with four rain dates – make up the calendar. The schedule is highlighted by four NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) events, two new Triple Crown Series, and significant enhancements to the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing.

“A lot of effort went into taking a fresh look at the schedule, and providing the best events we could for our race teams and fans. We have some traditional fan favorites that will return, and we have made some valuable additions to complement that core.
