The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) returns to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) on Wednesday, August 12th for their tenth championship points event of their 30th season – the Budweiser ‘King of Beers’ 150. The event will see over 30 cars take to the 5/8 mile high-banked oval for a 150-lap feature race.

Ryan Preece took the lead in the NWMT points standings after his third win of the season at Stafford Speedway on Friday, August 7. The battle among the top three remains tight however as they enter the final stretch of the championship, with Woody Pitkat and last year’s champion, Doug Coby, following close behind.

Rob Fuller Motorsports Ready To Rumble At New Hampshire

gdfgdfgdfSHREWSBURY, Mass. (July 14, 2015) – Rob Fuller Motorsports and 15-40 Connection will get two rounds of action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the modifieds this week as Ron Silk will compete in the All-Star Shootout and the New Hampshire 100.

“We’re excited to have Ron driving the No. 15 at Loudon. He’s got a ton of experience there including two wins. This weekend we’ll be focusing on getting our car in Victory Lane for 15-40 Connection,” said Rob Fuller, team owner. “Corey (LaJoie) has been busy with the Super Late Model program and travel has become time consuming. So we are planning to run one car for a majority of the NWMT races. But, when the schedule is open and there are no conflicts with the Super Late Models, we’ll get Corey back in the modified and run two cars at a few races.”

(Thompson, CT) – The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) teams have been working hard the last couple weeks getting ready for a marathon run of races at all three of Connecticut’s short tracks. The Mr. Rooter 125 on Wednesday, June 10 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) will mark the last of the three races held within a 12-day span. With three different drivers winning the first four races of the season, the battle for the championship is already off to an exciting start.

Ryan Preece currently holds the top position, after winning the last two NWMT races at Waterford New-London Speedbowl and Stafford Motor Speedway. Woody Pitkat, who has also scored a win this season, is next in the standings and is looking for his first NWMT championship after a breakout season in 2014. Last year’s champion, and winner of the first NWMT race of the season at TSMP, Doug Coby will look to climb to the top of the standings with another win at the Mr. Rooter 125.

Xtra Mart Convenience Stores put up a $250 bonus that was split evenly among the top-5 finishers in the extra distance DARE Stock feature event. Dan Dembek was the big winner, taking his second feature win of the 2015 season in the 20-lap DARE Stock feature. Ronnie Williams became the first repeat winner in the SK Modified® ranks, outdueling Eric Berndt and Ryan Preece in the process. Adam Gray picked up his first win of the season after three second place finishes, Tony Membrino, Jr. won his second consecutive feature in the SK Lights, Cliff Saunders got his second win of the season in the Limited Late Model feature, and Dana DiMatteo won his third consecutive Legend Cars feature.

New Bonus Programs Announced for Airborne Park Speedway

Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel has expanded on its “Hot Shoe Challenge” racing program to include Airborne. Winners in the J&S Steel Modified division will receive a $150 Lenny’s gift card for their first win of the season, while first-time Key R-D Trailer Sales Renegade winners will receive $100 gift cards and first-time Busch Beer Mini Modified winners will earn $50 gift cards.
