Thompson, CT (July 7, 2011): A hot summer night proved to be fitting for the racing action at Thompson International Speedway on Thursday night. The only thing hotter than the mercury was Danny Field. The Deep River, CT, driver remains undefeated in Mini Stock action during the 2011 season as he scored his seventh straight victory. Thompson Speedway hosted the Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) for the annual Marvin Rifchin Memorial event. Mike Horn of Ashland, MA, made a bold move on the opening lap that proved to be the winning one.

Ted Christopher Continues WMT Dominance at Thompson

Douton, Boss & Field Also Winners

Thompson, CT (June 30, 2011): The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour made its second visit of the season to Thompson International Speedway on Thursday night. Ted Christopher of Plainville, CT, made a late race surge to win his seven of the last nine WMT events held at the Connecticut oval. Keith Rocco of Wallingford, CT, waged a heated battle with Ryan Preece to score a victory in the Sunoco Modifieds.

Mike O’Sullivan of Springfield, MA, was victorious in the Super Model division. His triumph was matched by his brother Tommy O’Sullivan, also of Springfield, who scored his second straight Late Model feature win. Chris Douton of Waterford, CT, earned the victory in a rough-and-tumble Limited Sportsman feature. Glenn Boss of Danielson, CT, wired the field to score his first TIS Modified feature win of the season. Danny Field of Deep River, CT, continues to make history at Thompson International Speedway with his sixth consecutive victory in the Mini Stocks.

Veteran has won six of last eight Modified Tour races at TIS

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – If one had to take either Ted Christopher or the field if asked to predict who might win the Budweiser ‘King of Beers’ 150 at Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway on June 30, they’d have a hard time going against No. 36.

Christopher has won six of the last eight NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races at Thompson, and 12 total in his illustrious career. This current run that started with the 2008 World Series has been so dominant that Christopher even finished second and fifth in those two races in which he didn’t take the checkered flag.
