(THOMPSON, CT) – Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park was back in action with the Pepsi Back to School Bash on Wednesday, August 26th, the penultimate event for the speedway with only the World Series weekend in October left on the schedule for the facility’s legendary oval track. The event provided some of the best racing the Big T has seen all season, with lead changes, cautions and three and four-wide racing a common sight throughout the evening.
The night’s highlight events were a pair of Sunoco Modified Series races in a double feature that made for a massive points night and a total purse of over $11,000 across the two 25-lap races.

Rob Fuller Motorsports Ready to Keep Momentum Going at Thompson Speedway
Ron Silk to Drive the 15-40 Connection Modified in Pursuit of Third Consecutive Top-10
SHREWSBURY, Mass. (August 10, 2015) – Coming off of two Top-10 finishes from the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s (NWMT) recent stop at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Rob Fuller Motorsports is looking to keep the success going with another solid finish in the Thompson 150. Ron Silk will pilot the 15-40 Connection Modified for the team at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.
“We had another strong run at Loudon, led a lot of laps and grew as a team,” said Rob Fuller, team owner. “Momentum in this sport goes a long way, and I finally feel like we are at a turning point. Loudon was Ron’s first race in a LFR Chassis with a Spec engine, and I feel we are starting to understand what the other needs to succeed. Putting all our effort into one car was a plus as well. With everything going on at LFR, it is difficult to put the required time and focus into running one car, let alone two. Ryan and the guys have been working hard at the shop preparing for this week where we run two races in seven days despite the tracks being 800 miles apart.”

Berndt Celebrates Triumph in Sunoco Modified 20/20 Feature at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park
(THOMPSON, CT) It was a hot one at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in more ways than one as race fans braved near triple-digit temperatures for another afternoon of great racing action at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Wednesday, July 29th.
The evening included five feature events, including the main event, the Whelen Sunoco Modified 20/20 Sprint, presented by King Cadillac GMC. The three-segment race served as the penultimate event of the night and was the second one of these being held at Thompson throughout the 2015 season. The event challenged drivers to finish in the best position possible through two 20-lap and one 10-lap segments, earning fewer points the closer they were to the front. The driver with the lowest number of points after the three events claimed the overall win. In addition the first two segments acted as regular points-paying Sunoco Modified events.
The first segment saw the first big caution of the night to that point after a battle for the lead resulted in a five car melee when Keith Rocco caught the left rear quarter panel of Nick Ladyga in turn four after leader Jason Sundeen attempted a block, collecting at least three other cars in the process including points leader Woody Pitkat.
