Round four of Thursday Thunder took place this past week with another thrilling event as always. In the hot summer sun, the action on the track was set to be more intense than it ever had been. There was quite the mix of drivers in the pit area as well, with many drivers coming up from Connecticut to run with the Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour regulars. The drawing was over and the positions were set, the 21 Legends Cars took to the track under the setting sun for their feature event. (more…)
Shaun Buffington, driver of the 23 legend car has won his 5th straight race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). Sunday morning prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup race the NELCAR Legends took to the track to race on the 1/4 Mini Magic Mile.
The racing line up was set by qualifying practice time, Shaun’s teammate Tom Gray took the pole for the feature event. After qualifying the 23 team just made one adjustment to the car, Shaun said, “the carburetors were a little flat I think we had to much jet in it, so we changed carburetors for the feature. The track was greasy probably because of the heat, but it was loose for everybody so it was even.” (more…)
The third round of Thursday Thunder at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour did not disappoint, as usual. 21 Legends Cars took to the track and they had a tough act to follow up after a great race last week. With Kirk, Hutchens and Dore starting at the rear, it would be interesting to see who would pull off the victory tonight. (more…)
Every time the Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour visits the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, there is bound to be a good show put on. This past Thursday night was even better than most with some of the most aggressive and hardest racing ever seen out of the Legends Car drivers. Normally, the cars that are open wheel for the most part are not supposed to touch without consequence, but tonight, the drivers were able to make it work, but run as clean as the tour is known for, running caution free. Shaun Buffington took his fourth checkered flag in as many races at NHMS in a road course race in the 88th Loudon Classic. Evan Beaulieu finished second and Mathew Bourgoine third.
The Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour was back at the famous New Hampshire Motor Speedway this past week, once again turning right and left on the difficult road course. Not only was this a regular points race, but it was a National Qualifier for the Legends Road Course Nationals being held later this year. 26 Legends Car drivers, mostly oval regulars, took to the track for what would be an excellent race.
