Taylor Makes Long Awaited Return to OPS Victory Lane
by: Caleb Lamb
OXFORD, Maine – The Oxford Plains Championship Series returned to action for the first time since the TD Bank 250, and the familiar names found their way to victory lane.
The Call of the Wild RV Center Sport Trucks represented the first feature of the night. Jeff Schmidt jumped out to an early lead in the ten lap event, but it was clearly evident that Ryan Farrar had the fastest truck on the track. Farrar continued to chase down Schmidt, lap after lap, using the high groove to gain speed. Farrar reached the Schmidt’s rear bumper, who tried to slide his truck up a racing groove coming out of turn four to block Farrar’s lane. However, the move backfired and Farrar simply ducked underneath, took the lead, and ran away with the win. Farrar struggled in Wednesday’s Acceleration Series event but made the right move in fine tuning the handling on his machine for Saturday’s race. Schmidt, ever the picture of consistency, crossed the line second, and Corey Williams rebounded to finish third after failing to even take the green flag on Wednesday. Duane Booth and John Reynolds rounded out the top five.

Vertical Outlaws Wow Crowd – Douglas Has Night To Remember
By Caleb Lamb
OXFORD, Maine – With memories from the TD Bank 250 still fresh in the drivers’ minds, both the Acceleration Series and Championship Series divisions got a well-deserved week off from competition. However, there was still plenty of action at the Oxford oval with the third of four Motor Mayhems this year, presented by Aaron’s, taking place.

Joey Polewarczyk: ACT Late Model Tour – TD Bank Oxford 250
OXFORD, Maine — Joey Polewarczyk Jr. of Hudson, N.H., struggled with tire problems in the early going and finished 29th in the TD Bank Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway on Sunday, July 18. Polewarczyk started 13th and worked his way into the top-5 before a puff of smoke off his right front tire signaled a problem on lap 133. Seven laps later, Polewarczyk spun in turn two. After pitting and getting back into the race, he headed to pit road again — this time under the green flag — on lap 160. He was 28 laps down to winner Eddie MacDonald at the checkered flag.

Austin Theriault: ACT Late Model Tour
TD Bank Oxford 250
ACT Late Model Tour rookie Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, will attempt to qualify for the 37th annual TD Bank Oxford 250 on Sunday, July 18, at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine. This weekend marks Theriault’s first attempt at qualifying for the northeast’s marquee summer stock car racing event — in fact, the 16-year-old driver has never even been to the TD Bank Oxford 250 as a spectator. He has, however, enjoyed most of his ACT success at Oxford. In 2009, Theriault qualified for his first career ACT race at the track, and this year he’s posted his best starting position in an ACT race (sixth) and a top-10 finish on Oxford’s flat layout. He enters the weekend having finished 14th at Airborne Speedway last Saturday night — the highest finishing rookie in the ACT Spring Green 100.
