Speedway 95 results September 15
2010 Speedway 95 Little Enduro champion Danny Blanchard of Bangor appeared to have won his career first Dysart’s Late Model feature Saturday night at Speedway 95, but a post race inspection found that his crate motor did not still contain the required seal indicating that it had not been worked on since being sealed by Butler and MacMaster Automotive of Hallowell, the official engine shop of Speedway 95. Management has agreed to hold the finish of the race in suspense until the motor, which has been removed from the car, is taken to Butler and MacMaster on Monday to be tested. If it passes the test, Blanchard will be allowed to keep the win. Blanchard had led from the pole to lap 33 when a yellow flag bunched the 17 car field up for a two lap dash to the finish. Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs, who had run second for most of the race, challenged Blanchard over the last two laps, but was unable to unseat Blanchard from the top spot and finished second. In his post race interview, Seekins complained that Ryan Deane, the third place finisher, pushed him sideways on those last two laps, causing his car to lose traction and making it impossible for him to beat Blanchard. Points leader Andy Saunders of Ellsworth finished in fourth with John Kalel II of Orrington finishing fifth. All positions are unofficial until the Blanchard motor test is completed on Monday.

Austin Theriault Wins Spud 150
BKR Development Driver Returns Home To Score Victory
CARIBOU, Maine – The home cooking served up at Spud Speedway was just to Austin Theriault’s liking.
Theriault made a triumphant return to the northern Maine short track on Sunday afternoon, winning the track’s season-ending Spud 150 Late Model event for the second time in his career. The 18-year-old ACT Late Model Tour driver and Brad Keselowski Racing development driver first won the event as a 15-year-old in 2009.
“We had a great day up here at Spud,” Theriault said. “It was great to be back at the home track with the home crowd, and see all the people we haven’t seen in a while. I couldn’t be prouder of the whole team. We did a lot of traveling this weekend and they were all tired, but they stuck through and it was good to get them a win. There were quite a few good cars up here.”
Theriault started in the top half of the full Late Model field at Spud, but crew chief Mickey Green made the call for a pit stop early in the race to adjust on an ill-handling race car. Theriault, who sits third in the current ACT Late Model Tour standings, then battled his way back through the field to earn the victory.

Winterport’s Ryan Deane won his first Dysart’s Late Model feature of the season Saturday night at Speedway 95 when a rain shower caused the race to be stopped after 32 of the 35 scheduled laps had been completed. Points leader Andy Saunders of Ellsworth led the first 19 laps until Deane passed him for the lead, which he held until the caution for the rain halted the race. Wayne Parritt of Steuben also got by Saunders on lap 31, giving him the second spot at the finish. Saunders finished third with rookie Ryan Modery of Hermon placing fourth. Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs came from the rear of the field at the start to finish fifth.
Jim Carr Jr. of Clifton led all 25 laps of the Strictly Street feature that was stopped on lap 20 for a car stalled on the back stretch. On the restart, Andrew McLaughlin of Harrington challenged Carr for the top spot, but was unable to make the pass and settled for a second place finish. Shelby Kimball of Cornville finished third, with David Gray of Dixmont and Mac Hannon of Union rounding out the top five.
