Burgess stops Moulton’s streak at Unity Raceway
Unity, Maine — Jeff Burgess snapped Frank Moulton’s five-race win streak in the 35-lap Late Model main event Saturday night at Unity Raceway.
Burgess, of Fairfield, briefly lost the lead on a couple of occasions after starting from the pole, but controlled most of the Late Model 35-lapper. It was a turnabout of sort for Burgess, who had a two-race win streak broken by the first of Moulton’s five recent victories.

Moulton makes it five straight Late Model wins at Unity Raceway
Unity, Maine – Defending Unity Raceway Late Model champion Frank Moulton of Burnham took another big step toward his third straight championship in the premiere division at Maine’s Toughest Racing Oval Saturday night, posting his fifth straight victory in the 35-lap feature race.
Other racers visiting victory lane before one of the season’s best crowds included Brad Bellows (China Village), Chris King (Burnham), Corey Walker (Augusta), Mike Wilson (Chelsea), Justin Moore (Madison), Mika Wilson (Chelsea), Jason Bosworth (Cornville), Ryan Chadwick (Wiscasset) and Dan Snow (Pittston).

Frank Moulton wins fourth straight Late Model feature race at Unity Raceway
Unity, ME — Frank Moulton of Burnham is hot in the stretch drive as he seeks his third consecutive Late Model track championship at Unity Raceway. The Burnham driver claimed his fourth consecutive checkered flag in the top class at Maine’s Toughest Racing Oval, extending his point lead in the process.
Vassalboro’s Ed ‘Fubby’ Drake claimed runner-up honors, while Freedom teenager Dylan Turner picked up third-place hardware. Seth Raven of Waldo and Jeff Burgess of Fairfield rounded out the top five.
Super Street point leader Nate Weston of Madison returned to victory lane in the top support class at the third-mile oval. Weston’s closest challenger under the checkered flag was Waterville’s Ricky Burgess, with ‘Cowboy’ Dan Trask racing to the final podium finishing position. Steve Rackliff of Starks and Oakland’s Skip Conner completed the top five rundown.
Winslow’s Andy Turbovsky continued his recent hot streak in the Keystone Automotive Wildcats. Maurice Young of Chelsea gets closer to victory lane every week, finishing second in the 25-lapper. Waterville’s Ryan Robinson finished in third position, followed by Chris King of Burnham and Vassalboro’s Ed Sleeper.
Ben Clark of Clinton drove to victory in Uncle Henry’s Late Model Pro Four division action, breaking a semi-long dry spell. Augusta’s Corey Walker was the runner-up, with Clinton’s Tim Robinson finishing third in the Jimmy Dennis 38.
Reigning champion Mike Wilson of Chelsea extended his point lead as he seeks his third straight Monster Energy Drink Monsta Mini division championship. Wilson’s closest pursuer in the championship chase, Lance Chapman of Clinton, was forced to settle for a third-place finish behind Augusta’s Greg Cummings.
Justin Moore of Madison continued to dominate the action in the Aable Auto Parts Flyin’ 4 class, extending his lead in the championship standings for that classwith yet another main event triumph. Zach Audet of New Sharon continued a recent streak of good performances with a second-place finish. Cornville teenager Brad Bosworth claimed the third and final trophy.
Mika Wilson of Chelsea, beset by a rash of mechanical difficulties in recent weeks, broke a long dry spell, and an extended winning steak by point leader Chelsea Young, with a victory inn the Waterville Oaks Ladies division. Young, of Winterport, crossed the line in second position, followed by Amanda Batchelder od Fairfield.
Jayson Bosworth of Corville claimed the checkered flag in Geo & Sons Teen Thunder division feature racing action. Clinton’s Cole Robinson, the division’s top winner this season, picked up second-place hardware, with the podium filled out by rookie Mike Fernald of Benton.
Bill Winter was best in the Enduro race. Troy’s Daymon Dodge earned runner-up honors, with defending division champion Henry Boudreau of Winterport finishing in third position.
Action continues each and every Saturday, beginning at at 5:30 p.m., through the end of September, with a special events schedule planned for October at Unity Raceway. Moulton on a roll: Third straight win stretches point lead for 20-year-old racer seeking third straight Unity Raceway Late Model track title
Unity, Maine – 20-year-old stock car driver Frank Moulton is getting hot. Moulton, of Burnham, won his third straight Late Model feature race Saturday night at Unity Raceway, extending his lead atop the point standings in the premiere class at the historic Waldo County oval track.
Moulton’s closest pursuer on this night was Skowhegan’s David Folsom I, a three-decade-plus motorsports competitor who had a son racing in this same main event several years older than the winner. Moulton, also seeking his third straight championship in the premiere racing division at Maine’s raciest third-mile oval, had never put together a three-race win streak before Saturday.

Defending champion Moulton wins second straight Late Model main event at Unity Raceway
Unity, Maine – In a wild 35-lap feature race for the headlining Unity Raceway Late Model division, Burnham’s Frank Moulton survived to post his second straight win Saturday night.
Other main event victors were Corey Walker (Augusta), Ricky Burgess, Jr. (Waterville), Chris King (Burnham), Mike Wilson (Chelsea), Justin Moore (Madison), Chelsea Young (Winterport), Cole Robinson (Clinton) and Zach Gagnon (Clinton).

Burgess, Bellows make it two straight wins at Unity Raceway
Unity, ME – Jeff Burgess of Fairfield won his second straight Late Model feature race Friday night, topping the card at Unity Raceway. Other feature winners on the program included Brad Bellows of China, Andy Turbovsky of Winslow, Cary Davis of Solon, Gregg Cummings of Augusta, Justin Moore of Madison, Mika Wilson of Chelsea, Jayson Bosworth of Cornville and Alex Fernald of Benton.
Burgess had turned around a dismal season the previous week with a triumphant run in his Late Model, and Friday night the veteran car builder made it back-to-back feature victories in the top class at Unity Raceway.
