Dick Houlihan, Jeramee Lille, Crystal Serydynski and Mike Cavallaro win final Saturday features

seekonkKevin Folan started on the pole, and led the first 30 laps of the 40 lap Pro Stock feature. Mike Mitchell, Dave Silvia and then Ken Spencer all took turns trying to hunt down the Pro Stock sophomore. At the halfway point, Folan had a 4 car length lead over Spencer, Mike Brightman, Tom Scully Jr and Ryan Vanasse.

The first caution came out on lap 30, when Bob Hussey and Daryl Stampfl got together. From there, the lead was about the place that no one wanted to be. On the restart, contact between Brightman and Folan sent the 17 around, and Brightman to the pits. Dave Darling and Tom Scully Jr were involved as well.

Spencer and Vanasse battled for the lead on the restart, and Spencer lost the back end and spun, bringing out the caution.

Ed Flanagan Jr, Nick Lascoula, Shawn DeMello, Taylor Bowser and Kendra Levesque pick up final Fast Friday wins

Ed Flanagan Jr picked up his first win in over 2 years in the 25 lap Pure Stock feature. Dan Johnson of Rehoboth jumped out at the green and set the pace for the first half of the event. Flanagan ran second for a bit before Jamie

Salley got by and tried to chase down the rookie. With the leaders racing, the point championship contenders, John Robidoux and Earl Curtin III, were battling each other for position. The pair raced together, swapping positions in the top five as they tried to work through the field.

While they were racing for the fourth position, at the lap 12 mark, the pair made contact, and Curtin could not hold on, hitting the wall and ending his night.

Ryan Vanasse wins the Crab Manchester LM Memorial. Darling, Martin and Negley visit Victory Lane

seekonkRyan Vanasse jumped behind the wheel of Bill Bernard’s team car and rolled to his first win in the LM division in over two years, like he never left. The two-time LM champion started fifteenth on the starting grid and used a couple of early cautions and some timely openings to battle for the win.

Branden Dion brought the field down and jumped out front until Dillon Moltz, looking for some redemption, moved around the rookie for the lead. Moltz held onto the lead through a couple of early cautions, including one that included Dillon Estrella and Gerry DeGasparre.

At the halfway point, Moltz started opening a sizeable lead, which went away after Bill Bernard spun with just 10 laps remaining. Vanasse had moved to third, and moved past Lineham for second. By this time, Moltz was fighting a right front tire that was going down, and couldn’t hold off The Rocket, as Ryan moved around the CT native for the lead with seven laps remaining. Vanasse held off Moltz and DeGasparre on a final Green-White-

Al Wisialko, Earl Curtin, Len Sousa, Curtis Rolando and Cassie Meservey pick up Seekonk Fast Friday wins.

Earl Curtin III made quick work from his fourth row starting position, and moved past early leader Kei-Lyn Manfredo on the fourth circuit of the 25 lap Pure Stock feature to pick up his third victory of the season. Manfredo jumped out in front of Dan Johnson on the opening lap, and set the early lead. Her top position didn’t last long until Curtin found the outside and moved past the third year driver.

Tom Scully Jr, Dylan Estrella, Mike Cavallaro and Paul Lallier pick up Seekonk Speedway checkers

seekonkTom Scully Jr picked up his second win of the season Saturday at Seekonk, making a three-wide pass under Mike Brightman and Kyle Casper off the second corner. Casper jumped out front for the opening laps with Brightman on his tail as they battled for the lead.

Rick Martin spun on lap 17, bringing out the caution, lining up the move that put Scully into the lead. As they raced off the second corner, Brightman, who was leading at the time. They came off the second corner, Brightman and Casper wheel to wheel. Scully saw an opening on the bottom, and squeezed his Wheelock’s NAPA Auto Group Chevy to the inside and made it a three wide battle for the lead.

The trip raced like that through the front stretch, where Scully was able to move past and take over with 22 laps remaining. Following Scully through was Dick Houlihan, who battled with Brightman for several laps, through a couple of cautions.

Melberg, Lascoula, DeMello, Lougee and Kulpa win Fast Friday mains

seekonkJesse Melberg continued to show why he is the reigning champion for 2012 by coming from the back of the pack for a convincing win, edging race leader Amy Arsenault with six laps remaining in the 25-lap feature. He clambered from tenth on a field of twelve to fourth over the first eight laps, then settled in behind points leader John Robidoux for six laps, worked on Dave Desrosiers for three laps and then another three in second before he could get around Arsenault. Melberg made it happen the hard way, going around the outside each time. Earl Curtin III, who made a late climb from fifth, moved Arsenault back just two laps later to claim third, just three tenths of a second behind. Arsenault was third in a new car, .834 back. Ed Flanagan, Jr. and Robidoux rounded out the top five.
