SEEKONK NEXT FOR VALENTI MODIFIED RACING SERIES

Canaan, NH — The Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to action Saturday night, June 11, when New England’s premier open-wheel touring division travels to Seekonk Speedway, Seekonk, MA.

In a late breaking development, Doug Coby, of Milford, CT., will drive for point leader Rowan Pennink, of Huntingdon Valley, PA., this weekend. Pennink is taking the night off to attend a wedding.

The Seekonk facility has always produced strong car counts, competitive races, and series officials believe that will be the case this weekend.

ROCCO, PITKAT, CIPRIANO, SEARS, & WOOD SCORE JUNE 3rd USG EVENT NIGHT FEATURE VICTORIES AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway was back on track with a
5-division NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event as part of USG Event
Night on Friday, June 3rd. Keith Rocco scored his second consecutive
victory in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature event, Woody Pitkat took his
second consecutive victory in the 30-lap Late Model feature, Joey Cipriano
came home the big winner in a thrilling duel for the win to pick up his
second win of the season in the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature, Norm Sears
picked up his second feature win of the season in the 20-lap Limited Late
Model feature, and Josh Wood picked up his first feature victory of the 2011
season in the 15-lap DARE Stock feature.

Szegedy, Rocco, And McDermott Win Thursday Night Thunder At Thompson

Thompson, Conn. – Todd Szegedy took the lead in the Tour Type Modifieds at Thompson International Speedway Thursday night for the second and final time at lap 25. The Bethel, Conn. native pulled away from Ted Christopher in the final laps and put an exclamation point on a battle that lasted almost the entire race distance.

Christopher established his dominance out front in the early laps of the 40-lap feature. Ryan Preece kept the pressure on, however, as he looked high and low for a way around the No. 36. Despite Preece’s challenges, Christopher was able to keep his place on the point. Szegedy became a factor at lap five as he moved in on a tight nose-to-tail run that was interrupted by caution at lap nine. The cleanup for the accident, which involved Shelly Perry and Renee Dupuis, brought out the red flag.
