Canaan, NH. – With last weeks warm weather creating race fever throughout
the region, race fans and competitors alike are ready for a brand new season
of modified stock car racing. The New England based Valenti Modified
Racing Series, with over 70 race teams registered to compete this year,
is ready for it’s ninth season.
The 2012 opener takes place at Waterford Speedbowl, Waterford, CT.,
Saturday and Sunday, Oct 31, & April 1. The annual “Budweiser Blastoff”

SOUTH PLATTSBURGH, NY – Herb Bartemy and sons Aaron, 25, and Adam, 23 of Bartemy Motorsports had some bad breaks – literally – in 2011.
In the midst of trying to run a weekly DIRTcar 358-Modified schedule on the asphalt at Airborne Speedway, Herb tore up his left shoulder at work and underwent rotator cuff surgery. A few weeks later, while mounting a truck tire at their TDI Truck Repair and Towing facility in Swanton, VT, Adam broke his left forearm.
The trio has six good arms back at work on the task of getting two new cars ready for the upcoming Airborne season, which opens Sunday, April 29. The Bartemys also plan to compete in the new DIRT-sanctioned four race asphalt series put together with Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Lancaster, NY. (more…)
People’s United Bank to host Memorial Day Modified Special at Devil’s Bowl Speedway
Holiday event to begin new Friday-night schedule at Vermont track
WEST HAVEN, VT — People’s United Bank will usher in the new Friday night stock car racing schedule at Devil’s Bowl Speedway with the People’s United Bank Memorial Day Modified Special on Friday, May 25. The event kicks off the new summer schedule for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the West Haven, VT asphalt half-mile.
With several convenient locations in the Devil’s Bowl community including a branch in Fair Haven, VT just five miles from the race track, the People’s United Bank event continues a relationship that began at the speedway several years ago. A special feature race will be on tap for the Bond Auto Parts Modifieds, with the format to be announced in the coming weeks. The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model, Renegade, and Bomber divisions will also be on the card. (more…)

Modified division in 2011 and ran 12 of the 19 races, posting his first
career top-10 finish in the process. For the 2012 season, Tommasino is
looking to take his car to the next level and be a consistent top-5 threat

Dan Brown of Sutton, QC, plans a full Airborne Speedway 358 DIRTcar Modified schedule in 2012. He ran a part-time Airborne schedule in 2010, nearly a full schedule in 2011 despite some motor issues He’s purchased a Bicknell chassis, added a new sponsor and is working out an engine deal with (Yves) Lafrance Performance.
The competition is intense in Airborne’s DIRTcar 358 Modified division. The average starting field for a Ernie’s Discount Tools Modified feature in 2011 was 29 cars – most of which were separated by four-tenths of a second or less. Top-10 finishes were worthy of respect each and every week. Any race program not working hard to move forward can end up in the other direction. (more…)
