Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with the DARE Stock Xtra Mart Xtra D 50 program on Friday, May 15thon what was also Whelen Event Night with three Ingersoll Rand contingency bonuses going to the winners of the SK Modified®, Late Model, and SK Light features. Xtra Mart Convenience Stores put up a $250 bonus that was split evenly among the top-5 finishers in the extra distance DARE Stock feature event. Dan Dembek was the big winner, taking his second feature win of the 2015 season in the 20-lap DARE Stock feature. Ronnie Williams became the first repeat winner in the SK Modified® ranks, outdueling Eric Berndt and Ryan Preece in the process. Adam Gray picked up his first win of the season after three second place finishes, Tony Membrino, Jr. won his second consecutive feature in the SK Lights, Cliff Saunders got his second win of the season in the Limited Late Model feature, and Dana DiMatteo won his third consecutive Legend Cars feature.

Eddie MacDonald powered the Grimm Construction/Multiple Sclerosis Society Chevrolet to a hard earned sixth place finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Pittlite 125 at Bristol Motor Speedway as a companion race with the Sprint Cup Series. The Rowley, Mass. veteran started his 183rd race in the series and took the green flag as the defending champion of last year’s event. A flat tire on lap 49 appeared to quash any hopes of repeating the win but Eddie Mac and the crew never gave up and rallied from the flat and 24th restarting position to make his patented charge to the front.

The Northeastern Midget Association has long considered Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) the ultimate “separate the men from the boys” facility. While any Thompson checkered is a treasure, winning the first ever NEMA Lites feature at this year’s ICEBREAKER event will be a goal high on the list of many attendees.
Sitting at the top of that list is the all time Thompson winner – with eleven victories, Randy Cabral of Kingston, MA, who will return at the ICEBREAKER in his family owned #35 Lites car. In addition to Cabral – former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion and multi time USAC feature winner, Bobby Santos III of Franklin, MAwill be wheeling the Frank Manafort #76 in the event. In addition to Santos and Cabral – ISMA competitor and feature winner Jeff Locke will be aboard his family owned Lites car, NEMA competitor Paul Scally of Raynham, MA will be debuting his new Drinan Lites car, and 2014 NEMA runner up Avery Stoehr of Lakeville, MA, a new family owned ride as well.

Championship Auto Shows, Inc. is known for presenting iconic custom vehicles from television and film at its Autorama, World of Wheels, and Cavalcade of Customs events. This year, CASI is pulling out all the stops to showcase vehicles from one of Hollywood’s most popular film series. “Furious 7,” the newest film in the series, is set to release to the public, Friday, April 3, 2015.

The 2015 season is fast approaching, as the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) begins their fourth full season at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 10-12, and two drivers are itching to capture the first wins of their GSPSS careers.
Hudson, New Hampshire young gun Derek Griffith had a respectable season, finishing fourth on the season, with six (6) top-five and ten (10) top-ten finishes in eleven (11) races, but the elusive “W” has evaded the LCM Racing Engines team. Griffith is trying to change that in 2015.
