We have heard reports that Francis Venditti President of Seekonk Speedway is looking hard at building a 1/8 mile drag strip on the extensive track property. This has been looked at over the 70 years that the track has existed. We think that it’s a good idea and Francis should pursue it carefully and not get discouraged if there’s opposition from neighbors and the town government. Work with them and consider their concerns about noise and hours of operation. It’s a good opportunity for that venue to expand their business. After all Seekonk Speedway pays a tax bill to the Town of Seekonk every year and is entitled to some carefully planned expansion.

NASCAR announced that New London-Waterford Speedbowl’s 65th season of auto racing will now include a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event on Saturday, May 30.

After a stellar rookie season in Stafford Speedway’s SK Light division, Taunton, MA native Branden Dion is ready to challenge for SPAFCO Rookie of the Year honors in the track’s premier SK Modified® division in 2015 behind the wheel of the #04 Triple D Racing / Doug King Builders Chevrolet.

“I’m very excited to be moving up this year,” said Dion. “We worked on the car a lot during the season to get our setup dialed in and I think we’ll ready to go. The plan is for us to start off slow and work our way towards getting the car faster each week. Last year we studied our stuff each week, took our time, and towards the end of the year we really seemed to have everything together. It’s definitely going to be a learning experience for us but we have the same crew and the same chassis, so we should have a good starting point with the car setup.”

ATT00001SOPHIA, NC (November 2) – Scarborough, Maine’s Ryan Moore survived an intense late race battle with Christopher Bell to secure his first career Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model win in the 12th Annual North-South Shootout Sunday afternoon at Caraway Speedway. Bell tried to furiously to protect the inside groove as Moore closed in over the final laps, with the two cars making contact entering turn three on the last lap, sending Bell up the track and Moore to victory lane.
