‘Rapid Roman’ Richie Evans Rode Orange Chariot Into History
New York Star Won Nine NASCAR Modified Series Titles In Hall Of Fame Career

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 18, 2012) – Richard Ernest “Richie” Evans certainly was the face of NASCAR – and modified racing – in the northeast, winning an estimated 475 times in approximately 1,300 starts. It equates to a win in every three starts (a 36.5% clip), something unheard of in modern racing at any level.

Evans will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Friday, one of five members of the Hall’s third class comprised of the New York native, legendary crew chief Dale Inman, team owner Glen Wood and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions Darrell Waltrip and Cale Yarborough. Austin Theriault Announces Plans For 2012

Theriault to chase full ACT Late Model Tour, southern Super Late Model races for BKR

FORT KENT, Maine – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, will try and complete some unfinished business this season while also setting out on a new venture in his racing career.

Theriault will run the complete ACT Late Model Tour schedule in 2012 as he chases his first career Tour championship, while the 17-year-old will also run more than half a dozen Super Late Model events as a development driver for Brad Keselowski Racing.

NICK AND JOE BOIVIN READY TO TACKLE MODIFIED RANKS AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY AS ROOKIES IN 2012

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway’s modified rosters will
have a pair of brother rookie competitors during the 2012 season. Nick
Boivin will join the SK Modified® rookie class, while his younger brother,
Joe, will be joining the SK Light Modified rookie class. Both Boivin
brothers have been behind the wheel of racecars since a very early age and
they will look to become the first brothers to each be Rookies of the Year

PETER PORTANTE JOINING LATE MODEL ROOKIE CLASS IN 2012 AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Peter Portante, who is the defending Allison Legacy
Series North champion and has more wins in the Wild Thing Kart Series than
any other driver, will become the newest member of the Late Model rookie
class for the 2012 season at Stafford Motor Speedway. While most drivers
from the Wild Thing Kart Series make their home in the Modified divisions at
Stafford, Portante has taken the unique route of moving into Stafford’s
premier full bodied division for his rookie campaign. Portante has
purchased the former #71 Late Model from Walt Wosko, Jr., and Portante will
also have help from Wosko’s team as he tackles his rookie season at
Stafford.
