STE-CROIX, Que. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, continued to roll along on the ACT Late Model Tour, posting a pair of strong finishes in a doubleheader weekend north of the border. Theriault finished eighth in the 24-car ACT Budweiser Showdown at Chaudiere 200 all-star race at Autodrome Chaudiere on Saturday, September 10, and the 17-year-old then posted a fourth-place effort the very next day in the postponed Can-Am 200 at Circuit Riverside in Ste-Croix, Que. It marked the fifth straight Top-5 finish for the AT Racing No. 57 Varney Insurance Ford in ACT points events and moved him up one spot to fourth in the overall ACT standings with one race remaining.

NORTH WOODSTOCK, N.H. – Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John, New Brunswick, finished fifth in the PASS North Series PASS 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H., on Sunday, September 11. It was Sommerville’s third straight Top-5 finish and his eighth in 11 starts this season. Sommerville started 13th in his White Mountain debut and moved into the Top-5 and ran as high as third before the race was half over, but a loose condition over the final 100 laps of the event hindered his progress.

Waterbury, VT – Williston, Vermont’s Brian Hoar secured his 8th career American-Canadian Tour Championship following a sweep of the doubleheader weekend in Quebec. Hoar earned over $10,000 for his Rick Paya Motorsports team with wins in the “Showdown at Chaudiere” at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jct., QC and the Riverside Can-Am 200 at Riverside Speedway in Ste-Croix, QC.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS SOUTH EXTRA for Sept 12th

Thompson Speedway’s track owner/promoter Don Hoenig was finally able to put together a plan to give his 5/8 mile oval track a unique program that would entice Modified fans from New England and New York State an excuse to come to his track and partake in a combination North/South NASCAR Modified Tours. It was an expensive ticket both through the front and back gates, so it had to be something special. Consider that the NASCAR Modified Tours alone carried purses and point monies of around $180,000 which justified the admission price. The three segments which included a 125 lap race for each regional tour and then at the very end of the program a 50 lap shoot-out with the top 12 from each touring series making the starting grid.

Clark Claims PASS North White Mountain win

North Woodstock NH (9/11) Johnny Clark kicked in the jets with 50 laps to go in Sunday afternoons Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park, winning a side by side battle with DJ Shaw to take the lead on lap 131 and nip Shaw for his sixth PASS North win of 2011. Shaw led the majority of the 150 green flag laps but had to settle for second. PASS rookie Bryan Kruczek led his share of laps and raced home a strong third, with Alex Gingras and Lonnie Sommerville rounding out the top five.
