After Kyle Busch took his third race in row at Bristol Motor Speedway, he still holds the lead in Sprint Cup points with Jimmie Johnson trailing him as we get closer To The Chase. Kyle’s strategy at Bristol was to be quickest out of the pits along with several others who tried it. That race was won in the pits. In F1 action at Spa Belgium Sebastian Vettle won his seventh race and now tops the point standings by 52 points over Mark Webber. Will Power was the IZOD Indy Car’s top driver at Sonoma. Australian Will Power is trying to eclipse point leader Dario Franchitti and is -26 points behind the driver from Scotland. “It was the best weekend we had,” said Power in victory lane at the wine country track just outside of San Francisco, CA.

Dylan Turner claims Big John Phippen 59 victory at Unity Raceway
Unity, Maine — Dylan Turner of Freedom nailed down the biggest win of his short career with a victory in the Big John 59 Late Model race, held in the memory of multi-time, multi-track champion ‘Big John’ Phippen of Town Hill, who passed away last summer.
Turner, a third-generation racer and recent high school graduate, charged back into contention after an altercation while swapping the lead with Liberty’s Josh St.Clair went awry with just a handful of laps remaining in the event. That crash, which also eliminated Skowhegan’s David ‘Deuce’ Folsom II after he’d spent virtually the entire distance in second or third position, handed the lead to Cassius Clark of Farmington.

Foley foils Airborne Mods
Boutin takes Renegade 50
SOUTH PLATTSBURGH – George Foley of Saranac Lake took command of the Dick Nephew Memorial 50 with 10 laps to go and went on to his third win of the season in the Casella/Jim Pulsifer Logging No. 34 Saturday at Airborne Speedway. He sped past point leader on the low side second place then swung outside to overtake Greg Atkins for the lead.
The DIRTcar Modifeds were racing topless – without roofs – a twist that Foley has found is to his liking. “It does make the handling a little different,” he said, “but we have a couple of little changes we discovered a couple of years ago that work pretty good.” Foley started ninth and managed to avoid a front stretch melee on lap two that destroyed Patrick Dupree’s machine and brought out the red flag.
