Scarborough,Maine-Bill Rodgers won the Pro Series 40 lap main event on Saturday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in a drag race to the finish line on the final lap. Getting to the point was a journey though as Rodgers started deep in the 18 car field. J.J. HILL SET TO DEFEND LATE MODEL 100 TITLE AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY ON AUGUST 19th
(Stafford Springs, CT)—The Late Model division at Stafford Speedway will
take center stage next Friday night, August 19th, with the 18th Annual
running of the Late Model 100. Fresh off his first Late Model feature
victory of the 2011 season last Friday night, Stafford Motor Speedway Late
Model driver J.J. Hill is ready to defend his Late Model 100 victory of one
year ago, which was also his first career Late Model victory at the
Connecticut half-mile facility.
RYAN HUNTER-REAY (No. 28 Team DHL/Circle K/Sun Drop Citrus Soda): “I knew we had a good car this weekend and in practice we’ve been making the car better and better. They have done such a good job. We have great chemistry on this team and it’s a great result. I feel like the race turned was Dario and Sato getting together. I don’t know who’s fault that was. That’s for them to decide. My car was so good in traffic. The guys deserve this win. This one is for them. I wish that it was different, but we’ll take it after the year that we’ve had.” (About the conditions at the end): “I couldn’t even warm the tires it was so wet. I don’t think the fans at home understand how wet it was. We have a very small contact patch and the Firestone contact patch is amazing but when there’s some rain down, there’s nothing there. I couldn’t even put the power down in second or third. Wrong move on race control’s part. We had such a great car today. I love these short ovals. They are so much fun. It was a strange day. But sometimes racing is strange.”
HUNTER-REAY SCORES WIN AT NEW HAMPSHIRE MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Andy Lindeman of Poestenkill, NY, scored the victory in 20-lap feature event for the visiting New England Truck Series. Howard Payne was strong right from the drop of the green flag. He cruised out to a comfortable lead over Andy Lindeman. The margin was erased after an incident on the front stretch that involved Keith Chapman. Lindeman got the jump on the restart and was the new leader on lap five. Duane Knoll ran comfortably in third over a brewing battle between Allen Coates, driving in relief of his son Corey, and Jason Lafayette. Back up front, Payne was looking racy; working over Lindeman for the lead. (more…)
