Ryan Hunter-Reay won the MoveThatBlock.com INDY 225 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway today, after rain shortened the controversial race by five laps. Behind the wheel of his No. 28 Team DHL/Circle K/Sun Drop Citrus Soda car for Andretti Autosport, Hunter-Reay led 71 laps on his way to his first IZOD IndyCar Series race in 2011. “Short track racing tends to be a little crazier than most, things get heated because you are (running) closer than most,” said Hunter-Reay. “After three beautiful days, we knew the weather was coming. We figured we would (just) race to half way.” In victory lane Ryan said “It was tough trying to get traction out there because of the dampness. We also deserved this win,” Which ended up his second on an oval. We have to agree with Hunter-Reay because the sanction and teams brought 27 race cars to the venue. Even prior to that final crash that brought out the red flag, seven entries were among the casualties by lap 31. Which can be classified as high attrition. (more…)

RESULTS FOR LEE USA ON AUGUST 12th

Lee, NH – Another full night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly action went into the record books at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, including the annual running of the 50-lap Lance Davis Memorial for the Prime Storage Late Model Sportsmen.

Kayla Cazares was first to lead the extra-distance affair, setting the pace for the first six circuits before giving up the top spot to Timmy Johnson. Johnson’s time out front was short, as Bobby Melvin nosed ahead of him just nine laps later, but Melvin’s was even shorter.
