Former Sprint Car driver Scott Holcomb of Granby, CT ended Joe Krawiec’s win streak with a hard fought victory in the 25 lap USAC Dirt Midget Association feature at Bear Ridge Speedway Saturday. Home track hero Kevin Chaffee of Fairlee, VT scored his third runner-up finish of the season and New England Auto Racing Hall of Famer Ray Miller was third.. Krawiec and Dana Shaw completed the top five. Holcomb also won his heat, but he nearly didn’t make it to the track- his tow vehicle blew it’s diesel torque tube three times on the way. (more…)
LOUDON, N.H . — It was a day of major milestones for Kyle Busch, who tied Mark Martin for the career victory lead in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series with Saturday’s win in the New England 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The victory was Busch’s sixth of the season in 15 starts and the 49th of his career, tying Martin. At the same time, Busch, 26, won for the 100th time in NASCAR’s top three series combined.
“Happy 49—happy 100,” crew chief Jason Ratcliffe radioed to Busch after the driver crossed the finish line .304 seconds ahead of Kevin Harvick, who said warnings from NASCAR a few weeks ago had handcuffed him when it came to making the moves necessary to win the race. (more…)
Joey Polewarczyk Jr disappointed in NASCAR K&N Pro-Series East Finish at NHMS
(Loudon, NH) – Joey Polewarczyk Jr of Hudson, NH finishes in thirty-sixth place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday, July 15.
Joey had a solid qualifying effort enabling him to start in 17th place over all in the field of 36 cars. Once the green flag dropped, Joey was feeling the car out. Joey commented, “I was finding a line that I thought the car was the best in. The #61 Jack’s Auto Service, Poles Automotive, Fadden Racing Inc.Chevrolet was very tight at the onset of the race. Cody Hodgson: NASCAR K&N Pro Series East
New Hampshire Motor Speedway Race Report
LOUDON, N.H. – Cody Hodgson of Escalon, Calif., finished 16th in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East New England 125 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday, July 15. Hodgson struggled with a bad set of tires in qualifying that would give him the 34th starting position. After making some adjustments and getting a new set of tires, Hodgson began pushing forward into the Top-20 to bring the Dave Davis Motorsports No. 03 Ocala Gran Prix Dodge home 16th place in his first career race on an oval measuring a mile or more in length. The rally over the final half of the race helped Hodgson jump two spots in the K&N Pro Series East standings to ninth. (more…)
