Josh Sunn returns to victory lane in first after a two year drought beating out Bob Shepard who dominated the event for the first 46 laps in the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds. Earl the Squirrel Maxham grabs his 2nd win of the year in the DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes.

brg-apw-08161401BRADFORD, VT – With the rain looming the Bradford Bull Dogs Benefit night sponsored by Swenson Insurance Saturday August 16, 2014 made it in the record books suffering only one delay due to the weather.

The second spoiler of the year in the DIRTcar Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds happened Saturday night when Bob Shepard found himself with 5 to go leading the pack to the checkers. Shepard celebrating his 63rd birthday this week couldn’t think of a better birthday present to give himself. Unfortunately for Shepard another shoe having suffered a two year dry run was on a mission and ready to take away the gold from anyone in his way. A rain delay on lap 19 changed the condition of the track, and Shepard while able to hold on to the lead for most of the event, found Sunn on lap 37 flying by on the outside. Sunn would lead the remaining three circuits and claim the checkers with Shepard holding on for second. Finishing in third was Richie Simmons with his best finish of the season. Completing the top five were Kevin Chaffee and Chris Donnelly.

Harrison Burton Looking For More In PASS Return To South Boston

IMG_3380 (1280x853) (1)Throughout the stock car racing fraternity, there are families that are synonymous with certain speedways. That is certainly the case with the Burton family and South Boston Speedway. Jeff Burton and his older brother Ward honed their skills at their hometown track throughout the late 80’s and early 90’s as they began their ascent up the racing ladder. Likewise, Ward’s son, Jeb, was a staple in the track’s Late Model Stock division in recent years and has since moved on to the Truck Series. On Saturday night, Jeff’s 13-year-old-son, Harrison will continue the family tradition as he competes with the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model division in the South Boston 150.

Battle for the Championship in Full Force as Drivers Set Their Sights on Star

Star 2013Walpole, NH-    The Granite State Pro Stock Series’ (GSPSS) championship is heating up as the tour heads back to Star Speedway this Saturday, August 16, for the GSPSS 100.

Four drivers are within 28 tallies off point leader Larry Gelinas entering Saturday’s event.  Larry Gelinas’ lead whittled away after mechanical misfortune at Monadnock Speedway forced the Buxton, ME driver to retire early from the JBH 100.  Matt Frahm, Derek Griffith, and Dillon Moltz all took advantage as each finished inside the top 10 to begin to reel in Gelinas.  Frahm, with his third place finish in the JBH 100, now sits a mere 19 points behind Gelinas.  “Everyone kept their heads up,” stated Frahm about his run at Monadnock.  “Third place, we’ll take it for the points, and we’ll move on to Star.”  Frahm fought his way to the front as a result of being penalized from an incident with Tommy O’Sullivan.
