Winchester, NH — For the eighth consecutive season, the Valenti Modified Racing Series will celebrate our nations birthday at Monadnock Speedway, Winchester, NH., with the running of the “Firecracker 100” for modified race cars.
The special holiday program, Saturday, July 2, has become a tradition in New England motorsports. A strong field of racers from throughout the Northeast is expected to enter.

Barre, VT – Graniteville’s John Donahue stole the CARQUEST Vermont Governor’s Cup 100 win with a heads-up move at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT on Sunday, June 26. Donahue was running second to defending “King of the Road” and VT Governor’s Cup Champion Nick Sweet when three cars spun in turn four near the back of the pack spun on the 84th circuit.
By the time Sweet and Donahue reached turn three, all three cars were making their way back onto the track. Sweet lifted expecting a caution, but Donahue never lifted and took the lead when no caution was thrown. Donahue took the lead and never looked back, while Sweet had to settle for second.

Unity, Maine – The stock car racing card was rained out Saturday at Unity Raceway.
Competition resumes Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. with all racing divisions scheduled for action.
Jeff Burgess of East Madison currently leads the championship standings for the Late Model division, nine points better than Skowhegan veteran David Folsom I. Freedom teenager Dylan Turner is another ten points back in third position.

The regular racing program scheduled for Saturday June 25 at Speedway 95 was cancelled due to inclement weather. After winning 5 of the 5 feature races run to date in the Dysart’s Late Models, Mike Hopkins of Hermon sits firmly on top of the point standing for that division with 550 points, a 77 point lead over Winterport’s Ryan Deane, who has accumulated 473. Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs sits third with 467, followed by John Kalel II of Orrington in fourth with 463 and Dale Swoboda of Hermon in fifth with 462 points. Parent of Tiverton, RI was near Boston, MA on his way up to Oxford Plains Speedway, thinking about trying a few different things to get that Amtrol Sponsored #17 Ford Fusion into the main event, when the phone rings; the person on the other end says, “Oxford Plains Speedway has been postponed, due to weather”
