Waterford Speedbowl was back Wednesday evening with another Wild ‘n Wacky motorsports program. Four race winners reached Victory Lane, with Mitch Bombard of Willimantic leading the way
with an extra-distance X-Car victory. Mike Christopher Jr. of Wolcott continued his dominance in the INEX Legend Cars, Anthony Marvin of Colchester won the INEX Bandolero feature and Dave Yardley of Berlin closed the night with a win in the Super X-Cars.
Since Stafford Motor Speedway instituted its SK Light Modified class in 2006, the division has seen a fair share of rookie drivers find success by not only winning feature events, but championships as well. The 2014 season has seen another great crop of rookie drivers and Taunton, MA native Branden Dion has quietly made himself a championship contender by finishing all but one of the 10 SK Light features thusfar in the top-9. After his only finish outside of the top-10 back on May 2nd, Dion has climbed his way from 13thin the points standings to his current position of third in the standings, 42 points behind leader Jeremy Sorel.
After winning 71 times at Stafford Motor Speedway in weekly competition, there was never any doubt that Woody Pitkat knew his way around his home track. Now Pitkat can add a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win to his résumé.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS NORTH

Patrick Tibbetts of Barre earned his first career Allen Lumber Street Stock victory during the only feature event to be concluded before the rains came on Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac night on Thursday, August 7 at Thunder Road. The Late Model feature with 26 cars saw three laps completed before Phil Scott made hard contact with the wall and the rain started shortly after ending the night’s events.
The remainder of the Late Model feature will be made up next Thursday, August 14 at 6:00pm before the regularly scheduled event. The Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen 100-lapper will be run at 6:00pm before the Jet Service Envelope night on Thursday, August 21.
In the Street Stock 25 lap feature completed before the rain, Tibbetts held off Kevin Dodge and Kyle Streeter in a fierce battle. Will Hennequin and Donny Yates completed the top five. Jennifer Getty, Tommy Smith, Jamie Davis, Bunker Hodgdon and Alan Maynard all earned top ten finishes.

McKnight, Lescord First Time Winners at Monadnock Speedway
WINCHESTER, NH – Barry Gray earned the biggest win of the night Saturday, August 9, at Monadnock Speedway; holding all challengers in his shadow for 100 laps to capture the JBH 100 main event.
But while the veteran Pro Stock wheelsman took home the night’s largest pay check, Whelen All-American Series chauffeurs Kevin McKnight and Tyler Lescord will each always remember the night’s biggest prize as being his. McKnight, Mini Stocks, and Lescord, Super Stocks, each scored his first career victory on the high banks.

Waterford Speedbowl has been forced to cancel this evening’s scheduled Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday racing program due to the massive amounts of rainfall earlier this morning, plus the forecast for more rain possible throughout the afternoon. The mid-week entertainment program will return next Wednesday, August 20 with races for the INEX Legend Cars and Bandoleros, plus Super X-Cars, X-Cars and a Wacky Race.
