Austin Theriault Oxford Plains Race Report
Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, finished third in the 39th annual TD Bank Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Sunday, July 22. After winning his qualifying race to start sixth in the main event, the Brad Keselowski development driver used tire strategy to post his second consecutive Top-3 finish in the open Late Model competition. Theriault ran as high as second in the first half of the race, got shuffled back in traffic on a mid-race restart, and then moved from 13th to third in the running order over the final 40 laps. After becoming the yougest driver in the race’s history to finish on the podium last year with a third-place finish, Theriault finished third again in just his second career start.

ACT Veteran Pockets One of the Biggest Checks in 250 History
American Canadian Tour star Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, NH dominated the 39th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford (ME) Plains Speedway on Sunday, July 22nd. The ACT veteran wheeled his Ford-powered Pole’s Automotive machine to one of the biggest paydays in Oxford 250 history at $45,500, while leading over 200 laps. Polewarczyk maneuvered through heavy lapped traffic throughout the majority of the event and held off a late race charge from Jeff Taylor and fellow ACT competitor Austin Theriault in second and third respectively.
Polewarczyk jumped out to a commanding lead early from the outside pole and lapped nearly half of the 39-car field before the first caution of the event flew on lap 69. With multiple lap cars cushioning his lead over the rest of the lead lap cars, Polewarczyk quickly stretched out his lead again after returning to green and was a half a track ahead when the second caution of the event came out on lap 135.

Hudson N.H. – Erica Page won her first ever Roadrunner feature on July 22nd at Hudson International Speedway. Peter Raby started in the outside pole position and took the lead when the green flag dropped to start the race. Raby held the top spot for the first six laps of the race until mechanical woes sidelined his car. Page took over the lead at that point. A mid-race wreck involving Jen Lord, Jef James and Johnny Reefer brought out a red flag. James was checked out by EMS and released, Reefer walked away while Lord raced on but the cars of James and Reefer were badly damaged and towed off the track. When racing resumed Page continued to lead but had to fight off Nick Fissette before she could claim her winners trophy. Fissette had to settle for second. Joe Holden continues to improve and came home third. Tim Higginbotham was fourth and Todd Henshaw was fifth. Page and Jen Lord won the heat races.
