Canaan Fair Speedway to Host Granite State Pro Stock Series Season Finale
Championship race moved from Lee USA Speedway; Championship to be decided Sept. 16

CANAAN, N.H. — Canaan Fair Speedway will host the Granite State Pro Stock Series season finale on Sunday, September 16. The previously scheduled championship event at Lee USA Speedway has been canceled.

“We made this decision based on the best interest of our competitors,” Granite State Pro Stock Series President Mike Parks said. “Lee USA Speedway wanted to make this an open competition event, as they have had in years past for Oktoberfest. We have canceled our sanction of the event to honor their wishes, but we definitely look forward to working with Lee USA Speedway in the future.”

Packard Earns Rookie of the Year At Canaan
Late Model 100 Run, ROY Title Highlight Busy Week For 15-Year-Old

In five days, Emily Packard logged nearly 200 laps of racing, countless hours of practice and testing and tackled some of the most challenging tracks in the northeast.
From a test on the one-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition at Canaan Fair Speedway to another Top-5 finish at Thunder Road International Speedbowl, the 15-year-old high school sophomore experienced virtually every type of track and every kind of emotion associated with racing in New England.

“We had a great week. With all the ups and downs, it definitely equaled out,” Packard said. “We definitely had a good week and a great end to the season. I’m already excited for next weekend.”
Packard started with a day-long test session at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last Wednesday as teams prepared for the fourth annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational on September 22. Though Packard has not been formally afforded an official invite yet, she posted the sixth-fastest practice speed of the afternoon session at NHMS in just her first trip to the track.

CANAAN, N.H. – Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vt., finished second in the 50-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model feature at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H., on Saturday, August 25. It marked the best career Late Model finish for the 15-year-old rookie. Packard started the night with a win in her heat race, followed with a second-place finish in the semi-feature and the runner-up effort in the 50-lap main event on the .333-mile oval.

Second PASS North win of 2012 for Hight team – Wilson PASS Mod winner

Cassius Clark drove around Ben Rowe with twelve to go in Saturday night’s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Firecracker 150 at Canaan Fair Speedway to earn his second PASS super late model win of the season. Clark took advantage of the night’s second restart to claim the position and the win by a .812 second margin. Rowe was out front for the majority of the night but the defending Canaan race winner had to settle for second. Travis Benjamin kept his streak of top three finishes alive, finishing third and padding his lead in the series point standings.

It was Rowe and Lonnie Sommerville on the front row and Rowe took the lead when the green flew .That pair took off , racing nose to tail lap after lap. The race went caution free until lap 72, taking less than 18 minutes to complete that distance. Lonnie Sommerville put his ride out front on the restart and led the way at the half way mark with Rowe, Benjamin,Cassius Clark, Matt Frahm, Derek Ramstrom, and Johnny Clark trying to chase down the leader. Rowe was quick to reclaim the lead on lap 77 as another long stretch of green flag racing ensued. Sommerville slipped high on lap 101 and Benjamin took advantage to move up to second and the top two battled nose to tail for the next 30 laps.

Hoar finished second last year in the open competition for ACT-legal Late Models, and he’s looking to use the event to get the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger back on track following a disappointing 11th-place finish last weekend in the ACT Spring Green 112 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.
