Weekend Brings Success For Crazy Horse Racing
LEE, N.H. – It was a banner day for Crazy Horse Racing teams in the ACT Late Model Tour season opener at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H., on Sunday, April 14.
Two teams affiliated with the organization qualified in the Top-10 to make the 30-car starting field, and two brand new cars built by Crazy Horse Racing this winter finished in the Top-10 of the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150.
Veteran Milton, Vt., racer Scott Payea finished 10th at Lee USA after qualifying seventh for the feature event in his first time on the track with the new No. 89 to lead the Crazy Horse contingent on Sunday, while ACT Rookie of the Year candidate Travis Stearns finished a career-best eighth in the new Richard Green Racing No. 16 after starting 24th. Lee, NH — American Canadian Tour Rookie of the Year Jimmy Hebert disproved any ideas of a sophomore slump by earning his first-career ACT victory in style at the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 14th. North Haverhill, NH’s Travis Fadden and Rowley, MA’s Eddie Macdonald finished out the podium for the season opening event.
The race began with Tiverton, RI’s Ray Parent going door-to-door with pole sitter Fadden for the first six laps, until overtaking him for the early lead. Fadden stayed hooked to Parent’s back bumper as the field stretched out, bringing defending ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. into third behind the two leaders. As the pair worked through lap traffic, Hebert worked his way from the 15th starting position to tenth, highlighting a string of daring moves with a 3-wide blast on lap 32. By lap 57, Hebert had maneuvered his way through the field to 6th place. Parent and Fadden continued to battle for the lead through lap traffic until a quick move by Fadden left Parent pinned behind a lapped car. Fadden stole the lead back, and showed the way until the first of six cautions on lap 89. (more…)
Lee, NH – The American Canadian Tour Late Models hit the track for the first time in 2013 with an optional practice at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH. Thirty-six (36) cars took advantage of the practice day in preparation for tomorrow’s (Sunday, April 14) NH Governor’s Cup 150 season opener.

Eight-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar of Williston, VT led one of the four sessions while seven-time ACT Champion Jean-Paul Cyr of Milton, VT topped the final two. Waterbury, VT – As the American Canadian Tour’s 28th season shifts into full gear, teams prepare for the opening race on April 13/14 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH. After one of the closest point battles in ACT history in 2012, eventual Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. edged out 8-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar with a victory in the season finale, and will look to continue his momentum at the Lee opener in 2013.
Helliwell will be challenged by ACT star Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., who got his start in full-bodied stock cars at Lee USA Speedway. While Helliwell has amassed 8 track championships at Lee USA, he remains in search of his first ACT victory at his home track. Polewarczyk won the opener at Lee in 2008.
“I’m excited just to get started,” said Polewarczyk. “We’re focused, the car is ready, and the team and I are ready to go. We should have won at Lee in last year’s race. We can’t wait for the opener to get the championship chase underway,” he finished.
