Hudson NH – Jarrod Soucy had another heartbreak at Hudson Speedway on Monday September 6th. Just as the previous day, Soucy led all the laps of the race except the last two laps. Monday, just like on Sunday, he lost the lead when he chose the wrong way around lapped traffic. Chad Wendell was the beneficiary this time as he had been right behind Soucy for most of the race. Wendell finished first with Soucy in second followed by Justin Beecher, Meegan Lord, Sammy Gilman, Carlos Esquivel, John Daughenbaugh and Nick Fissette.

Boniface takes Mod Checkers
Winchester, NH: Neither cool temperatures, light wind, nor the threat of a hurricane would stop a great night of hot racing at the northeast’s fastest high bank. More new comers would appear in our mini stock division in the #60 of Jason Parker who really made his first start last week and the #25 of Tim Griffith. As heat races started, it seemed that the cooler temperatures had really changed the track and racers were working hard between practice and heats to change set ups and get their cars to stick. After qualifiying, teams would still be working hard to adapt the car to the track and some seemed to really hit the nail on the head.

Hudson NH – Geoff Rollins picked up his second feature win of the season at Hudson Speedway in the Outlaw Sportsman. John Meany and Bobby Allen made up the front row and battled side by side in the opening laps for the lead. Allen finally cleared Meany on the outside but his lead was short lived as Rollins got past Allen a few laps later. After a few cautions in the first half of the race things settled down and stayed green for the second half of the race. The race was for second place after the halfway point as Rollins stretched his lead. Allen and Mitch Wendell battled hard for second place, making contact a few times but Allen held on for second and Wendell finished third. John Meany finished fourth followed by Keith Walton, Matt Robinson, Ron Bolduc, Rick Woodside, Kevin Kephardt and Ron Lord Jr.

Hudson NH – John Morin Jr. won the “Mighty”Mike Lewis Memorial race on Sunday evening August 29th at Hudson International Speedway. Lewis was a longtime Hudson/Star competitor who tragically lost his life in a garage accident while prepping his Street Stock for racing at Star in 1998. While he was a warm and caring individual off the track, on the track he had a “take no prisoners” style that many times put him and his cars, usually numbered with the Dale Earnhardt copyrighted #3, in victory lane. Lewis was the 1992 Strictly Stock Champion at Hudson, which was an epic season-long clash with Dean Weber, remembered by longtime speedway fans as one of best ever.

Old friends and new faces are emerging on the track. Super Stocks saw the return of Ed Lofland in the #45 Super Stock , Sportman Modifieds saw two new faces in #13 of Josh White and #76 of John Hanafin. The Outlaw Pros welcomed #2 of Wally Wright for his first time in competition, who is a regular Mud Bog competitor. Young Guns would see JT Cloutier start from the pole and head out to another victory in their 15 lap Feature. The battle would rage between #88 of Hillary Renaud and #11 of Joe Boivin as they ran side by side. Boivin would try the outside and Renaud held her line and it was not until the last lap that Boivin would snatch the second spot away in turn three to hold the position. Renuad crossed the stripe for third, which she has done many times in this first season. Renaud, in her post race interveiw, said she has her sights set for a win.
