The series has crisscrossed New England since early May and there’s been plenty of excitement along the way. Bill Rodgers (Beech Ridge) and Dave Darling (Seekonk) beat the touring pros at their own game. Ben Rowe saw success with a new team. His dad Mike just kept on winning, scoring twice in his six 2010 PASS starts. Trevor Sanborn finally got his elusive PASS North win, and of course there’s point leader Johnny Clark’s phenomenal season with five wins and twelve top tens in the season’s first twelve events.

Hudson Race Report for Sept. 12th 2010

Hudson NH –Peter Fiandaca scored a popular win in the Outlaw Sportsman division at Hudson International Speedway on Sunday afternoon Sept. 12th.

Fiandaca started on the outside but slipped back in the opening laps allowing pole sitter Ron Lord Jr. to lead the first few circuits. Tim Casey took a turn leading some laps after passing Lord Jr. Mitch Wendell was next up to lead the race when he passed Casey on a restart after a caution for Jay Maki who was trying to BBQ his carburetor off turn two. The next to lead was Geoff Rollins but his lead lasted about fifty feet as a caution came out for a spinning Wendell and it was determined the Rollins was involved in Wendell’s spin putting both drivers to the rear for a restart. Fiandaca inherited the lead at that point and brought the famed #135 under the checkers in first for the 323rd feature win of his long career. Wendell came back to finish second. Casey was third followed by Rollins, Bobby Allen, Kevin Kephardt, Ricky “Bobby” Woodside, John Meany, Keith “Dynamite” Walton and Lord Jr. Casey and Woodside won the heats.

NHMS ACT INVITATIONAL ANNOUNCES MORE 2010 INVITEES

NHMS ACT INVITATIONAL ANNOUNCES MORE 2010 INVITEES

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) has announced another round of invited teams who have been invited to participate in the second ACT Invitational to be held at the regions largest sporting complex, the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) on Saturday, September 18, 2010. The event will be held as one of three preliminary events leading to the Sunday, September 19th first ‘Chase’ for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship. The ACT teams will join the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the Camping World Truck Series in a spectacular triple-header event on Saturday, September 18.

The first group of ACT teams, selected a week ago, represented the winners of 2010 championship events and track champion candidates with a few ‘at large’ selections. This announcement is primarily teams from an ‘at large’ pool who participated in a test and tune session last month at the Speedway. “This group represents sixteen (16) more teams in the selection process. This has been one of the most difficult jobs I have had in the racing business. We had 71 teams test and they all did a great job. They really are all deserving of being part of the 43 team starting grid. That is the problem; there are only 43 spots for 71 worthy teams,” said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour.

The following group will join initial invitees, Brian Hoar, Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., Karl Allard, Patrick Laperle, John Donahue, Eddie MacDonald, Guy Caron, Brent Dragon, Ricky Rolfe, Donald Theetge, Dan McHattie, Alex Labbe, Austin Theriault, Miles Chipman, Randy Potter, Nick Sweet, David Pembroke, Dennis Spencer, Jr., and Mark Hayward.
