ACT American Canadian Tour NH Governor’s CUP AT LEE USA FEATURES 13 CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS

ACT American Canadian Tour Waterbury, VT – There will be no less than (13) thirteen former champion drivers entered in the 2012 ACT opener at Lee USA on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Between them they have accumulated 48 track and/or touring series championships during their careers. The annual opening New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway is expected to field the best opening day group of racers in its 22 event history.

Heading the list of former champions is Brian Hoar, Williston, VT. He is an (8) eight-time ACT Champion and also owns a Thunder Road and Airborne track championship. Hoar also is the defending NH Governor Cup winner. Jean-Paul Cyr, Milton, VT is a (7) seven-time ACT Champion and also is the 2010 Thunder Road track Champion.

Part-time ACT driver and noted car builder with nine (9) Oxford Plains Speedway Pro Stock titles, Jeff Taylor from Farmington, ME, along with two-time Oxford Pro Stock Champion Ricky Rolfe from Farmington, ME will look to take the Cup back to the Pine Tree State.

Spring Meeting and Practice ahead for the Granite State Pro Stock Series!

With the 2012 race season just around the corner the GSPSS has announced that they will hold there spring meeting at 10:00am on Saturday April 14th at Monadnock Speedway, followed by an open practice session from 12:00 to 5:00pm. The meeting will be a final chance to ask questions and to see what we have in store for the 2012 season. Driver memberships, rules and race procedures will be available. The GSPSS will also announce the Schedule for the day’s events for the David’s House 106 as well as the purse structure for the event. GSPSS president Mike Parks stated it was decided to have our spring meeting the day of practice in order to help the teams with a little bit of traveling expense, with the help of Monadnock Speedway we will hold our meeting in there VIP Suite before practice gets started. ACT American Canadian TourGEORGIA, Vt. – After a season decorated with wins in some of New England’s most prestigious racing events and a series-record eighth championship for both car owner and driver alike, RPM Motorsports doesn’t have any plans two slow down in 2012.

The same car, same equipment, same crew and same driver will try and top a 2011 season in which they won a total of seven races and clinched the ACT Late Model Tour title with two races remaining.

Veteran Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. Focused on 2012 Title

ACT American Canadian TourWaterbury, VT – Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, NH entered the 2011 season as the favorite for knocking off eight-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar. While things didn’t work out last year, Polewarczyk and his Pole’s Automotive Ford team are refocused and ready to get back to their winning ways in 2012.

In 2010, Polewarczyk had one of the greatest runs in ACT history. He claimed five wins in the final three months of the season and claimed second in the final standings. He earned a win at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway and two at Waterford Speedbowl, including the season finale. But his biggest wins of the year came in the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and the People’s United Bank Milk Bowl at Thunder Road. It looked like he was poised to make a serious run at the 2011 title after claiming the ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup at New Smyrna (FL) Speedway in February 2011.

MacDonald and Theetge Enter ACT NH Governor’s Cup Opener

ACT American Canadian TourWaterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) announced today that Eddie MacDonald from Rowley, MA and Donald Theetge, of Boischatel, Quebec have filed entries for the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 championship stock car season opener at the Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 15, 2012.

pic1_0MacDonald has compiled an impressive regional and national record during his racing career. The ‘outlaw’, as he is often known throughout New England, is one of the last of the Northeast independent teams to race on the national stage in the NASCAR K&N Series. He also has recorded an impressive win record in his appearances with his ACT Late Model over the past several years, including two New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) ACT Invitational wins and two TD Bank Oxford 250 wins. His family owns the Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH which is where he first began his racing career.

“We have really enjoyed racing with the ACT guys over the past four or five seasons. There is a great mix of veteran and young talent in ACT racing, and we feel lucky to have won a few of the big shows,” said MacDonald.

Granite State Pro Stock Series Driver Roster Continues to Grow Larger

granite state prostock seriesCanaan NH. – As the 2012 race season nears, the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) driver roster continues to grow. ‘We are very excited with the support we are receiving from the race teams” stated GSPSS president Mike Parks. As of today we have 24 teams registered and we believe there are still more to come. Multi time Track Champions Babe Branscombe and Barry Gray head the list of recent registered teams, along with Modified Racing Series stand out Les Hinckley making his return to full fendered racing. Strong competitors from all over New England have stated intent to follow the tour this season. Drivers like: Mike O Sullivan, Fran Colson, Mike Parks, Chris Wilk, and Bryon Baker along with veterans like Dennis Maxfield, Richie Eaton, Jake Vanada and Steve Gauthier. With this strong support the 2012 GSPSS season has nothing but promise. We continue to receive calls all the time regarding the upcoming season, and we are still working on securing more race dates. The Goal of the GSPSS was to have 12 events but at this point its looking like it will end up around 8, which is fantastic for the inaugural season. The series kicks off with the David’s House 106 on May 26th at Winchester NH’s Monadnock Speedway with an expected purse exceeding $15,000 and a full field of the region’s best Pro Stock teams in action!
