Asselin claims Triple Crown final in Valcourt for East Coast Snocross series,
Presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction
Wallenstein, Pilotte notch Pro Lite wins

VALCOURT, Quebec (Feb. 18, 2013) — Quebec native Donovan Asselin stole the headlines with a dominant performance last Friday afternoon, winning the high-stakes final round of the inaugural Triple Crown series for Pro and Pro Lite riders in Super Competition Motorsport (SCM) and East Coast Snocross (ECS).

Asselin’s victory was part of Day 1 in the 31st annual Grand Prix Ski-doo de Valcourt, presented by FOX. Finishing second in the Triple Crown Pro final was Corin Todd (Bailey/Hulten Polaris), while Lincoln Lemieux (Lemieux Racing/Ski-doo) filled out the podium in third. Asselin led from start to finish on a very well-prepared Ski-doo.

Todd, Poirier split Pro finals in Lake George for East Coast Snocross series,
Presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction
Pilotte earns second straight sweep in Pro Lite

LAKE GEORGE, NY (Feb. 11, 2013) – Veteran snowmobile racers Corin Todd and Danny Poirier each claimed a Pro final over the weekend, as East Coast Snocross (ECS) completed Round 5 on the 2012-13 schedule in the famed resort town of Lake George.

Todd (Bailey/Hulten Polaris), of Otego, NY, earned his third win of the season in Saturday’s 18-lap battle. Lincoln Lemieux (Lemieux Racing/Ski-doo) grabbed the holeshot, yet Todd blasted his way past to lead lap two and held on to the finish. Poirier slotted into third at the start, moved past Lemieux on lap 11 to take second and crossed the line nine seconds behind his teammate. Lemieux settled for third after a strong effort. (more…)

Lack of snow forces site change for Round 5 at East Coast Snocross,
Presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction
Event moved from Belmont, NH, to Lake George, NY

CHESHIRE, Conn. (Feb. 5, 2013) – Despite predictions of a cold and snowy winter for the northeast in 2012-2013, a lack of snow in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire has forced a change in venue for this coming weekend’s East Coast Snocross (ECS) competition.

The fifth round of championship point racing was originally planned for the Lakes Region Casino in Belmont, NH, yet an unusual lack of snow in that area has forced officials to move the event. In a kind gesture with incredible timing, the folks who organize the Lake George (NY) Winter Carnival called to inquire if the series would be available for a return visit to their town. (more…)

Ellis notches first Pro victory in Louiseville for East Coast Snocross series,

Pilotte makes clean sweep in Pro Lite

LOUISEVILLE, Quebec (Feb. 4, 2013) – Idaho native Derek Ellis has raced snowmobiles in more different places than he cares to count. The veteran athlete who now lives in West Fargo, ND, but calls Massachusetts home this winter headed north to Quebec last weekend, and brought home the big trophy for his efforts.

Ellis (Jess Racing/Arctic Cat) grabbed the holeshot in Sunday’s Pro Open final and kept a strong field of racers from both sides of the border behind him to earn top honors. Defending champion Danny Poirier (Bailey/Hulten Polaris) chased Ellis the entire distance but settled for second, while teammate Corin Todd finished third. (more…)

Lemieux sweeps Pro finals in Lake George for East Coast Snocross series,

Wallenstein and Pilotte prevail in Pro Lite

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (Jan. 28, 2013) – Second-generation snocross racer Lincoln Lemieux stole the spotlight once again Sunday, completing a sweep of the Pro finals as East Coast Snocross (ECS) wrapped up Round 3 in the famed resort town of Lake George, New York.

Lemieux, of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, piloted his Ski-doo to victory in Saturday’s 14-lap contest, finishing just a half-second ahead of runner-up Corin Todd (Bailey/Hulten Polaris). Vermont veteran Chris Ackerman (Ingles Performance/Ski-doo) came up big with his first podium run of the season in third. (more…)

Round 2 of Triple Crown at Louiseville next stop for East Coast Snocross series

CHESHIRE, Conn. (Jan. 26, 2013) – Just one week after their debut appearance in the popular resort town of Lake George, NY, teams from East Coast Snocross (ECS) will gear up for a trip north of the border.

On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2-3, the bustling village of Louiseville, Quebec, will roar to life with the sounds of snocross in Round 2 of the 2013 Triple Crown Series. Teams from Quebec-based SCM will host their U.S. counterparts in the International Snocross, presented by Loutec and the City of Louiseville.

Spectator gates open at 9 a.m. each day. Admission is $20 per day for adults; children age 12 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. The track is located on Avenue Deveault and is easy to access. Respected Quebec businessman Jerome Gerber is our gracious host and event promoter. (more…)
