SAINT PIE, Quebec – Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., finished second in the rain-delayed ACT 100 at Sanair Super Speedway in Saint Pie, Quebec, on Sunday, August 12. The eight-time ACT Late Model Tour champion moved into sole possession of third-place in the current Tour standings, just 45 points out of the lead with three races remaining. The combination event with the ACT Castrol Series was completed on Sunday, after being halted by rain with seven laps complete the night before. Hoar started 12th in the field when weather washed out qualifying and the starting grid was set via practice times. After falling back early in traffic, the No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger closed onto eventual winner Wayne Helliwell Jr.’s bumper with under five laps remaining on the .875-mile triangle.

Saint-Pie, QC – American Canadian Tour point-leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. of Dover, NH beat the rain and nearly 40 other competitors to claim the victory at Sanair Super Speedway in St-Pie, QC on Sunday, August, 12. Helliwell was hunted by eight-time Champion Brian Hoar who finished on his tail in second, and young sensation Austin Theriault to complete the podium. Rowley, MA’s Eddie Macdonald took fourth, and former Serie ACT Castrol Champion Karl Allard rounded out the top five.

After completing seven laps before getting rained out the previous night, Patrick Laperle re-assumed the lead in the early laps stretching out over fellow ACT Castrol Champion Karl Allard, and Helliwell. The race was slowed by just one yellow, when the car of rookie Etienne Cliche spun on lap 35. With the field back together, Helliwell mounted his attack, passing Allard for second and finally diving hard underneath Laperle for the lead on lap 55. From there, Helliwell sliced through lap traffic, leaving only 16 cars of the 39 car starting field on the lead lap.

THE STORY
Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., joins the ACT Late Model Tour for its return to Sanair Super Speedway in St-Pie, Quebec, with the Sanair 100 on Saturday, August 11. The ACT-sanctioned race on the .875-mile triangle is a combination event with the ACT Castrol Series and the first for the Tour at the track since 2006. Hoar, the 8-time ACT Late Model Tour champion, swept a pair of races at Sanair Super Speedway in 1993. The RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger currently sits in a tie for third in the ACT standings with four races remaining, just 32 points out of the lead. Earlier this week, Hoar was named as one of the first 10 drivers to be selected to participate in the fourth annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 22.

Patrick Laperle Dominates for Second Straight ACT Castrol Win at Autodrome Chaudiere

ACT American Canadian TourSt-Denis, QC’s Patrick Laperle dominated on his way to his second straight Série ACT Castrol win at Autodrome Chaudiere on Friday, August 3. The defending Castrol Champion lapped all but the top five of the 18 car field, while leading the final 111 laps of the 150 lap event.

Former Castrol Champion Karl Allard jumped out to the point from the outside pole after the initial green. However, his lead was short lived as Donald Theetge used the outside line to take over the lead on lap 9. Theetge broke away from the field and built himself a healthy lead over the next 30 laps. Coming off of turn four to complete the 39th circuit, Theetge unexpectedly slowed and coasted to a stop, bringing out the first caution. Theetge’s day would be over due to distributor issues.

Eight-time ACT Late Model Tour champion Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., finished fifth in the rain-shortened ACT 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 28. The race was halted after 112 of the scheduled 150 laps by rain, shortly after Hoar used a three-wide move on a Lap 110 restart to move into the Top-5 for the first time. Hoar started 11th in the 30-car field and was beginning to work around the fourth-place car when the rains finally came. It was the fourth-straight Top-6 finish for the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Hoar began his night by winning the first of four ACT qualifying races from the outside pole.
