NSCS Race Recap: Johnson Wins Fifth Straight Title As Edwards Dominates Homestead
HOMESTEAD, Fla. (Nov. 21) — NASCAR has a rock star — and perhaps after a fifth straight championship for unsinkable Jimmie Johnson, the sport will realize it.
Johnson ran second to Carl Edwards in Sunday’s season-ending Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway to secure the first come-from-behind title in his skein of five championships.
Edwards’ victory was perfection. He led 190 of 267 laps in winning his second straight Sprint Cup race and the 18th of his career.
“Why didn’t you set the cars up like this before, Bob?” Edwards joked with crew chief Bob Osborne after the race. “That was the best performance down the straightaway I’ve had in a long time.” (more…)

NNS Race Recap: Busch wins 13th Nationwide race of the season
HOMESTEAD, Fla.—Kyle Busch pulled away from Kevin Harvick during a 23-lap run to the finish to win Saturday’s Ford 300 Nationwide Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Harvick ran second, followed by 2010 series champion Brad Keselowski, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne. (more…)
TONY STEWART – Who Needs a Sprint Cup Title When You Have a Sprint Car Title?
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Nov. 17, 2010) – The Sprint Cup title may be out of reach, but for the second straight year, a Sprint Car title is in Tony Stewart’s hands.
The driver of the No. 14 Office Depot/Old Spice Chevrolet Impala for Stewart-Haas Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is in only his second year as a driver/owner in NASCAR’s elite series. But as a 10-year open-wheel owner in USAC and the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, Stewart has scored 13th championships, the most recent of which came last Saturday night when driver Levi Jones captured the USAC National Sprint Car Series title for the second straight year. AVONDALE, Ariz.(Nov. 14, 2010) — Jimmie Johnson didn’t have the fastest car in Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 500 at Phoenix International Raceway — at the end of the day, race winner and polesitter Carl Edwards did.
Johnson, the four-time defending NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, didn’t lead a lap. Denny Hamlin, ahead in the points and seeking his first title, led a race-high 190 laps. (more…)
NSCS Race Recap: Bowyer wins at Talladega as Chase tightens
TALLADEGA, Ala.—In a win that was vindication for Clint Bowyer, all three leading Chase contenders dodged potential trouble Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway as the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup tightened dramatically.
Bowyer had nosed ahead of Richard Childress Racing teammate Kevin Harvick in Turn 1 on the 188th and final lap of the Amp Energy Juice 500 when a violent wreck behind them sent AJ Allmendinger upside down into the inside wall, caused the fifth caution of the race and froze the field as it ran.
