Record-Setting Attendance At NASCAR Summit Signals Start Of 2015 Season

(Jan. 13, 2015) – What began more than a decade ago in early January as a small gathering of medical, safety, security and track services personnel to share best practices and prepare for the coming NASCAR season has ballooned into one of the most vital and unique preseason conventions in all of motorsports.

The annual NASCAR Summit will conclude its three-day agenda today at the Concord (North Carolina) Convention Center, where a record number of over 800 attendees in those aforementioned fields representing the facilities that host NASCAR’s national, touring and weekly and IMSA series events converged to ideate and address numerous key topics in their areas of expertise prior to the start of the 2015 NASCAR and IMSA racing seasons.

Start Times Finalized For Budweiser Speedweeks 2015 Events

fdigkfdgDAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 57th annual DAYTONA 500 on Sunday, Feb. 22, NASCAR’s biggest, richest and most prestigious race, will start at 1 p.m. (TV – FOX, FOX Deportes; Radio – MRN Radio, SiriusXM). It’s the sixth straight year “The Great American Race” will have a start time of 1 p.m.

Legend Of ‘Awesome Bill’ Started From Meager Beginnings

image001DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 8, 2015) –When Bill Elliott climbed into his Ford on a late-winter afternoon in 1976, little did fans at North Carolina Motor Speedway know they were witnessing the birth of a NASCAR Hall of Fame career.

The 20-year-old Elliott, whose car was fielded by his father George and crewed by brothers Ernie and Dan, didn’t last long in his NASCAR premier series debut. Engine problems sidelined the Elliotts early for a finish of 33rd in the 36-car field.

NASCAR Set to Honor Local Drivers in Charlotte

IMG_3120CHARLOTTE, NC – Four local stock car drivers are headed to Charlotte, NC to be honored at the annual NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Awards on Friday, December 12. Racers from Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT and Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY will stand on stage at the NASCAR Hall of Fame as they collect track, state, and national honors for their performances in 2014.
