Packard Set To Make International 500 History
Sophomore Late Model Driver Heads To One Of Favorite ACT Stops
EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Emily Packard would like for nothing better than to see her second career Late Model victory come in a historic event for the ACT Late Model Tour.
Packard, of East Montpelier, Vt., will join roughly 40 Late Model teams from around the region for the inaugural $140,000 ACT International 500 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Sunday, July 21. Airborne was the site of Packard’s first career ACT Late Model Tour start last fall, and the racy half-mile track remains one of her favorite places on the Tour.
She’s hoping her comfort level on the bigger tracks will pay dividends this weekend.

Hoar Ready To Add New Piece To Trophy Case
8-Time ACT Champion Eyes Win In Inaugural International 500
GEORGIA, Vt – It’s been two months since Brian Hoar was last in a race car, but when he gets back behind the wheel of the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger he’s hoping to recreate some of the excitement of his last ride.
Hoar matched the closest margin of victory in ACT Late Model Tour history when he won the ACT 100 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., in mid-May – and he’d gladly take a similar victory this weekend in the inaugural $140,000 ACT International 500 at Airborne on Sunday, July 21. The unique segmented race featuring three 100-lap sprints on the .500-mile track carries a guaranteed winner’s share of $25,000.

NAPLES, ME (July 16) – Ever since the first TD Bank 250 was held at Oxford Plains Speedway in 1974, it has attracted not only the best short track racers from New England, but from across North America. In that first event won by Joey Kourafas, the precedent was set that short track racing’s best would assemble at Oxford for the 250. In addition to the talented group of drivers from New England in the field that day, Southern aces Bosco Lowe and 1963 Daytona 500 winner Tiny Lund competed along with a strong group of Canadian drivers led by Jean Paul Cabana. In fact, the early years of the TD Bank 250 were dominated by Southern drivers such as Butch Lindley, Bob Pressley, and Tommy Ellis. The first Canadian to taste TD Bank 250 glory was Don Biederman in 1977.

Waterbury, VT – The popular Quebec Série ACT has a powerhouse of veteran talent who have entered this weekend’s inaugural ACT International 500 to be held at Airborne Raceway in Plattsburgh, NY.
Three-time champion Patrick Laperle from Montreal and two-time Série champion Donald Theetge from Quebec City lead a solid contingent of winners into the $140,000.00 International 500 weekend. Theetge has the Série all-time record for the most wins with 20, and Laperle is close behind with 17 wins to his credit.
“The team is ready to head to Plattsburgh. We will do everything we can to win the $25,000 dollar first place prize. This is the kind of race I like, it puts pressure on the team to prepare the car after each segment, and it puts pressure on me to race as hard as I can. I look forward to going back to the track where I started my career”, said Laperle.
