Oxford Plains Speedway Race Report

OXFORD, Maine – Brad Keselowski Racing development driver Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, returned to his family-owned team for the first time this season and rallied to finish ninth in the PASS North Series Ripley & Fletcher Ford 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Sunday, April 21. Theriault fought the track position game all day long on the flat .375-mile oval – starting shotgun on the field in his first-round qualifying heat – and lost a lap in the first half of the main event. But Theriault got back on the lead lap with under 60 laps remaining, and he fought back over multiple late-race restarts in the AT Racing No. 57 Pelletier Ford Ford Fusion to score his sixth straight Top-10 finish in PASS-sanctioned events, dating back to August of 2012.

NEMST Set To Debut At Stafford Motor Speedway

Stafford Motor Speedway is and iconic track in the history of New England auto racing and has seen many famous drivers from around the country wheel around its half-mile oval. This year marks the 42nd year of the CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler and headlines with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. This will be the first year that the NEMST, in its 5th season of competition, has been invited to the track with rocket fast 4-cylinder race cars. This will also be the first year the NEMST visits all three Connecticut race tracks.

The Texas Roadhouse NEMST kicked off its 2013 season April 14 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH with part time tour competitor Zach Audet dominating the event leading 44 of the 50 green flag laps. Audet is questionable for the trip to Connecticut about 6 hours from his Skowhegan, ME home. All time NEMST win leader Emerson Cayer is excited for the trip to the southern New England track and the speeds that come with the ½ mile oval. Mini-stocks have not raced on the track since an exhibition event in 2009.

Apple Blossom 200 Set To Kick Off PASS Northwest Triple Crown At Wenatchee

Apple Blossom 200 Set To Kick Off PASS Northwest Triple Crown At Wenatchee

WENATCHEE, WA (April 22) – After months of anticipation, drivers and fans of the Pacific Northwest are just days away from the return of organized stock car racing to the region with this weekend’s Apple Blossom 200. The season opener for Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval (WVSO) will also double as the inaugural event for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Northwest Triple Crown.

PASS is largely regarded as the premier sanctioning body for short track asphalt racing in the North America. The Apple Blossom 200 has traditionally been one of the biggest Super Late Model races in the Northwest, so the pairing of the two just seems to make sense. The PASS Northwest Triple Crown has already drawn lots of interest from racers excited about the possibilities for this year and beyond.

“Guys are hopeful and ready to support PASS in the Northwest,” said WVSO promoter and short track racing legend, Garrett Evans. “I know several drivers that have been saving their cars because they are committed to the PASS Northwest Triple Crown. We’ve had teams practice here at WVSO from Spokane and other places. And the local guys have been practicing a lot too and are really excited.” (more…)

PASS North Series: Reid Lanpher
Oxford Plains Speedway Race Report

OXFORD, Maine – Reid Lanpher of Manchester, Maine, was the unlucky recipient of poor track position throughout the day, and the 14-year-old failed to qualify for the PASS North Series Ripley & Fletcher Ford 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine. Lanpher, who regularly drives a Late Model for JR Motorsports, was making his first career appearance at Oxford Plains and was working with veteran NASCAR K&N Pro Series East crew chief Andy Santerre for the first time. Though he did not make the 34-car starting field after starting last in both his first-round qualifier and his consolation-round race, Lanpher was pleased with the information he gained and encouraged by the fact that he only narrowly missed a qualifying spot.
