PASS North title showdown begins at White Mountain Saturday
Plenty of contenders for 2012 Championship

The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late models make their final trip over the mountains to North Woodstock New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday and the season long points battle couldn’t be a whole lot tighter.

Just ten points separate the top three as the 2012 season begins to wind down. Cassius Clark leads DJ Shaw by nine markers, and Travis Benjamin is just one back from Shaw in third.

Eight-time Tour champion inches closer to 2012 ACT Title

BARRE, Vt. – Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., took advantage of shrewd pit strategy at Thunder Road International Speedbowl, emerging with crucial track position and holding off all comers to win the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 on Sunday afternoon. Hoar led the most laps en route to his record 37th career ACT Late Model Tour victory and inched to within eight points of the series lead with just one race remaining.

The win was the second in a row in this event for RPM Motorsports, which also won the event in 2011 with Nick Sweet driving as a teammate to Hoar.

Cassius Clark wins PASS North Auto Value 250 at Speedway 660

PASS NorthFarmington, Maine’s Cassius Clark is the 2012 Auto Value 250 champion. Clark capped off an impressive SpeedWeekend run to take the checkered flag in Atlantic Canada’s biggest short track race of the season. The Pro All Star Series points leader won the race ahead of second place D.J. Shaw from Center Conway, New Hampshire and Matt Harris from Fredericton Junction.

“Wow what a run, the King Racing team of Rollie MacDonald gave me a great car tonight and I am thrilled to be the Auto Value 250 champion” said Clark in Speedway 660’s Victory Lane. “I love Canada and to follow up the Atlantic Cat 250 win at Scotia SpeedWorld with Speedway 660’s Auto Value 250 this year is certainly one of the biggest thrills of my racing career.”

Clark led 120 laps en route to his victory and picked up 21 thousand dollars in prize money. John Flemming captured the Modern Electric half way challenge, led 72 laps, finished 8th and takes home more than 67 hundred dollars in prize money.

BARRE, Vt. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, finished fifth in the ACT Late Model Tour Labor Day Classic 200 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on Sunday, September 2. Theriault started 29th in the 30-car field, used pit strategy early in the race to gain track position, and then picked up two spots over the final four laps to finish in the Top-5 for the seventh time in nine ACT races this season. The Brad Keselowski Racing development driver remained the only driver on the ACT Late Model Tour to have finished in the Top-10 in all nine points races, and the AT Racing No. 57 Pelletier Ford Ford Fusion has two Top-10s in two races at Thunder Road in 2012.

Barre, VT – Eight-time Champion Brian Hoar made it clear his championship defense was far from over on Sunday afternoon at Thunder Road, claiming the clutch victory in the 34th Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic. Current point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. made him earn it, finishing a close second, and three-time Thunder Road track champion Cris Michaud rounded out the podium finishers.

Rookie Jimmy Hebert led the way early until a lap 33 caution when Helliwell spun in turn three. Hebert retained the lead following the restart, but was overpowered by Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. on lap 54 of the event. His lead, however, was short-lived when a hard charging Brent Dragon charged from the tenth starting position to take the lead on lap 68.

Veteran racer scores first career Granite State Pro Stock Series win

HUDSON, NH — Bobby Baillargeon was virtually untouchable as the veteran stock car racer led all 100 laps and claimed his first career Granite State Pro Stock Series win at Hudson Speedway in Hudson, NH in the Hudson Hugger 100.

The Kingston, NH driver drew the pole position in the top-eight redraw and set up his winning effort. Baillargeon was able to pull out to sizeable leads, but a late race restart on lap 94 put Granite State Pro Stock Series point leader Bobby Cabral to his outside.
