THE STORY
Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, returns to ACT Late Model Tour competition this week for for the ACT 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 28. Theriault heads into the first ACT points race in more than a month fresh off a third-place finish in the TD Bank Oxford 250 last Sunday, and he’s currently fourth in the overall standings – just 42 points out of the lead. Beech Ridge is a flat, .333-mile track, which is traditionally the kind of track where the AT Racing No. 57 Pelletier Ford Ford Fusion performs at its best. In two previous starts at Beech Ridge, Theriault has never finished outside the Top-5.

THE STORY
Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., begins the stretch drive toward a ninth career ACT Late Model Tour championship in the ACT 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 28. After more than a month off from ACT competition, the Top-4 drivers in the standings begin the final five-race stretch toward the season’s conclusion separated by just 42 points. Hoar has always had an affinity for the flat Beech Ridge Motor Speedway – having returned to ACT Victory Lane at the track in 2009 following an eight-year hiatus from the series to concentrate on what is now the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. He is one of only three drivers to have won at Beech Ridge since ACT’s return to the track in 2009.

PASS South Southern Sizzler 150 at Orange County Speedway Always Lives Up to Expectations

Charlotte, NC 7/25/12- Over the last several seasons the 4/10th mile oval located in the tiny town of Rougemont, North Carolina, deemed the Orange County Speedway, has hosted two PASS South Series super late model events a year. The first normally comes early in the season schedule during mid spring time, and the second during the middle of North Carolina’s sweltering summer time heat and humidity. Both events are known to produce some of the best racing all season, but round two at the North Carolina track, appropriately named the Southern Sizzler 150, always has that extra bit of flare or excitement to it that draws additional fans in the stands and cars in the pits.

Brett Moffitt Stretches Points Lead in K&N Series

Brett Moffitt, driver of the Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE) #11 AISIN Toyota Camry, powered to a strong second place finish on Saturday evening, July 21st, leading the way to the most successful team finish in the company’s existence, with both HRE cars coming home in the top five in the Jegs 150 at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio. At the end of the night, Moffitt had extended his 4 point lead in the championship standings to 22 points.

Crew Chief Dave McCarty and the team again brought a car with speed in it, and Moffitt clocked the fastest time in the first practice session at 14.441 seconds (83.014 mph) around the .333 mile semi-banked asphalt oval. The #11 team elected to work on race set up and did not make a mock pole run during the second practice session.

Going out fifteenth of the twenty-two entries in the qualifying order, Moffitt qualified the car in fifth position, starting from the inside of the third row, with a lap time of 14.335 seconds (83.627 mph).

Helliwell, Pole Lead ACT Stars to Beech Ridge

Waterbury, VT – The stars of the American Canadian Tour will kick off the second half of their season this Saturday night, (July 28), at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME for the ACT 150. Dover NH’s Wayne Helliwell, Jr., leads Hudson, NH native Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., and Williston, VT’s Brian Hoar at the midway point as the title hunt remains far from settled.

Polewarczyk comes into the event as one of the hottest racers in the region after dominating the TD Bank 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway last Sunday (July 22). He already found victory lane at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway when he claimed the win in this event two years ago, and will look to add to his increasing momentum.

Granite State Pro Stock Series Honor Co-Founder with Memorial Race

Cabral Leads Pro Stocks into JBH 100 after Recent Win

WINCHESTER, NH — The Granite State Pro Stock Series will make their second appearance at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH on Saturday, August 4 for the JBH 100. The race will be in memory of late series president John Hoyt, who unexpectedly passed away last year. Hoyt and Mike Parks founded the series in 2011.

“John (Hoyt) was a driving force in this series to help get it off the ground,” Granite State Pro Stock Series president Mike Parks said. “We decided to do a memorial race as our little tribute for him.”
