NAPLES ME (7/31) It’s no easy deal racing against the Northeast’s Super Late Model super stars. They have the team, the talent and the equipment to take on any speedway’s home town heroes and leave with the checkered flag and the big trophy. But there’s always an exception to any rule, and when the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North race teams roll into Seekonk (MA) Speedway for a short track Saturday night the drivers that follow the traveling race show all over the Northeast will be out to even the score.
Seekonk has a talent laden field of Pro Stocks (the forerunner to today’s Super Late Models) and they know every inch of asphalt at the historic short track. They’re hard to beat on their home turf; Tom Scully Jr. and Dave Darling are living proof. They’ve both prevailed over the PASS North regulars at Seekonk. In fact it took three trips to the Action Track of the East before six time PASS North Champion Johnny Clark could break the locals’ strangle hold on victory lane.

Brian Hoar Beech Ridge Race Report

Fort Kent, ME’s Austin Theriault secured his first career American Canadian Tour win in a rain shortened event at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME on Saturday, July 28. Theriault and his Pelletier Ford Ford Fusion battled with last year’s Beech Ridge ACT winner Jeff Taylor of Farmington, ME for the majority of the event and came out on top just before the fourth and final caution flew on lap 112 due to rain. Jay, ME’s Dave Farrington, Jr. had a career day and completed the all Maine and all Ford podium.
Twenty-nine American Canadian Tour Late Models took the green flag with the threat of rain looming over head. Taylor jumped to the lead from the pole position but not without Theriault all over his back bumper. Sporadic sprinkles of rain began around the lap 20 mark and Theriault decided to make his move, taking the lead on lap 26. The 18 year old Theriault broke out to a straight away lead and began picking off lap traffic until the first caution flew on lap 69.

Point Leader Dery Looks for Three in a Row
Waterbury, VT – The stars of Serie ACT Castrol will head to Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, QC this Saturday, July 28 for the ACT 200. Point leader Jean-Francois Dery looks to claim his third straight victory in the series, and his second in a row at St-Eustache in 2012.
Second-place point man Donald Theetge will attempt to keep up with the torrid pace set by Dery, who has yet to finish out of the top five except for a mechanical failure in St-Croix earlier this year. Theetge looked well on his way to winning the previous race at St-Eustache, until a duel with eventual winner Dery left him facing the field against the turn three wall. Theetge has collected two wins for himself in 2012, however, and the two-time Serie ACT Castrol Champion will look to close the 13-point gap between himself and Dery after a blown motor at Circuit Riverside on July 14.
