Valenti Modified Racing Series Heads To Vermont’s Devil’s Bowl

gsdrserCanaan, NH. — The Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to the State of Vermont for the first time in five years, Friday night, July 24, when the series competes for the first time at Fair Haven’s famed Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The series last race in the Green Mountain State was May 2010, at Barre’s Thunder Road Speedbowl.

Friday’s race marks the halfway point of the season with Stafford Springs, CT, hot-shoe Woody Pitkat, riding a 34 point lead into Vermont over second place driver, Todd Patnode, of Richmond, NH, entering the Newport Chevrolet ‘100.’

Valenti Modified Racing Series Set for Debut at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday

VMRSWEST HAVEN, VT – History will be made at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday night, July 24, with the Newport Chevrolet-Buick-GMC 100 – the track’s inaugural event for the Valenti Modified Racing Series (VMRS). The low-slung, high-horsepower, open-wheel VMRS Modifieds will make their debut on the Rutland County half-mile oval as the headline event, in addition to four divisions from the weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere.

Lee USA Speedway

150717 lee-2Lee, NH – Lee USA Speedway hosted the Mighty Midgets of NEMA and the NEMA Lites on Friday night, along with a full program of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action to fill out the night’s racing action at “New Hampshire‘s Center of Speed“.

Third-generation racer Avery Stoehr of Lakeville, MA was the class of the field in the NEMA main, jumping out to the lead early and going the distance to post the win and collect the coveted Marvin Rifchin Memorial trophy. Five-time NEMA champ Randy Cabral of Plymouth, MA was the best of the rest and scored runner-up honors, with Seth Carlson of Brimfield, CT rounding out the podium in third.

Sweet Caps “Rollercoaster” Weekend with ACT International Win

fsrdxfcPlattsburgh, NY – Nick Sweet showed why he’s one of the top American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model drivers in the Northeast on Sunday, July 19, capping a whirlwind two days by winning the ACT International at Plattsburgh, NY’s Airborne Park Speedway.

Barre, VT’s Sweet took the lead for the final time on lap 192 of the 200-lap event, beating out Alex Labbé on the final restart. The Thunder Road Late Model point leader will take home more than $10,000 for the win after lap-leader money and contingencies. The victory was also a redemption for Sweet after finishing second in the event in 2014.

Truex Jr. Overcomes Bad Break With Gritty Performance in New Hampshire

dfgdfgdfLOUDON, N.H. (July 19, 2015) — Martin Truex Jr.’s 12th-place finish could be summarized as either disappointing or impressive, it’s just a matter of which way one would assess the final result in Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

While comfortably running in sixth place and turning lap times quicker than some of the cars in front of him, Truex came down pit road under green for his final stop with 55 laps remaining. But the early timing of the green-flag pit stop for tires and fuel turned out to be an unlucky break for Truex.
