LUCAMA, NC (November 23) – Tyler Church led 120 of the 200 laps that made up the 8th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown for a dominant win Saturday afternoon at Southern National Motorsports Park in the 2013 season finale for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models. The win marked a strong final third of the season that saw Church also claim his first career PASS South Super Late Model win back in September at Hickory Motor Speedway.
“I’ve always wanted to win somewhere other than Hickory and Tri-County, we’ve won up there quite a bit in the Limiteds, but finally we were able to win somewhere else,” said Church in victory lane. “It’s really not sunk in yet. This place is really cool and I can’t believe we were able to win the Meltdown.”
The afternoon began with Church just missing out on the track record as he claimed his first quick time in a PASS South Super Late Model with a lap of 97.337 miles per hour. It was obvious after the PASS South redraw that Church not only had speed, but he also had luck on his side, drawing pill number one to start from the pole for the Mason Dixon Meltdown.

CHARLOTTE, NC (November 18) – As this weekend’s 8th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown approaches for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models, several teams are already ready to make their way south to North Carolina’s Southern National Motorsports Park. Since the event’s inception in 2006, some of the best PASS North Super Late Model teams from New England have made the trip south to escape the increasingly cold weather in the north and get one more big race in before the season ends. And the northern contingent has fared quite well traditionally, especially in the early years of the Meltdown. In the first four editions, PASS North drivers took the checkered flag led by Ben Rowe, who won at Concord Speedway in 2007 and South Boston Speedway in 2009, while fellow New Englanders Cassius Clark and Johnny Clark took the checkered flag in the other two.
While the south has prevailed in the last three runnings of the Mason Dixon Meltdown, many believe this year’s race at Southern National could see the big money heading back north on I-95. Rowe leads a strong group of fellow New Englanders to this year’s Meltdown which includes Joey Doiron, Kyle Desouza, Derek Ramstrom, Joey Polewarczyk, and Steve Legendre. The All-Time PASS Super Late Model wins leader is quite familiar racing in the south with 8 PASS South wins to his credit and the 2009 PASS South Super Late Model championship. Rowe recently ended a long dry spell with his win in the North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway and is looking forward to heading back to Southern National Motorsports Park where he took one of his five wins during his championship season.

CHARLOTTE, NC (November 13) – Since 2006, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) competitors have been excited to cap off their racing season with the traditional fall running of the Mason Dixon Meltdown. Though the venue has shifted throughout the years, the one thing that has remained constant is the thrilling short track action that has gone on year in and year out.
This year’s 8th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown will give the event a slight reboot as it moves to the Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC. The high-banked 4/10 mile oval has long been a favorite of Super Late Model competitors from all over the country and the 200 lap contest should provide quite a challenge for the Nation’s top short track stars. Both the PASS National and PASS South Super Late Model champions will be crowned at Southern National as will be the PASS Pro Late Model division’s top driver.
