Quenneville Tightens Devil’s Bowl Standings with Third Modified Win
Aube, FitzGerald snap long winless droughts; Bradford goes for three-peat
WEST HAVEN, VT – Vince Quenneville Jr. is keeping things interesting at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The veteran stock car driver sailed to his third victory of the season on Friday, August 21 and tightened an already-close championship battle. Other winners at the event, which was sponsored by Brown’s Quarried Slate and Brown’s Orchard & Farm Stand, included Jamie Aube, Scott FitzGerald, and Chuck Bradford.
Quenneville’s win came in the Bond Auto Parts Modified division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere. Codie Aubin of Plattsburgh, NY looked the part of a first-time winner by leading the caution-free 30-lap race by a substantial margin, but Brandon, VT racer Quenneville reeled him and completed the pass for the lead with eight laps remaining.

Tremont Completes Weekend Sweep on Dirt Track at Devil’s Bowl Speedway
Douville rides the top for SCoNE win; Older, Severance carry checkered flags
WEST HAVEN, VT – Kenny Tremont Jr. thought he had done it all in dirt track Modified stock car racing, but found out that there were still some “firsts” left for him to achieve. His victory on Vermont Army National Guard Night at The Dirt Track at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Sunday, August 9 was the headline moment of a four-division card for the Berlin Optical Expressions Dirt Track Series that also saw Danny Douville, Darrell Older, and Justin Severance win.
A winner of more than 300 races and over 30 championships during his long career, Tremont went wire-to-wire in the 35-lap feature for the Liberty Street Discount Beverage & Deli Sportsman Modifieds on Sunday. He topped a field of 25 starters to become the first driver to win more than one feature race in the Sportsman class since the new 3/10-mile Dirt Track opened at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in September 2014. Gonyo, Atkins Split Modified Shootouts at Devil’s Bowl Speedway
Rookie wins wild Late Model main; Bradford snaps LaVair’s streak
WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway played host to a some wild stock car racing action under a full moon on Friday, July 31, and saw two first-time winners on Allen Pools & Spas Night. The event kicked off the second half of the season for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere.
Veteran drivers Leon Gonyo of Chazy, NY and Greg Atkins of Clintonville, NY split a pair of 20-lap “shootout” feature races for the Bond Auto Parts Modified division. In the opening race Billy Lussier held the early lead and began to stretch out before a caution period with five laps complete bunched the field for a restart. Gonyo pounced to seize the lead and then drove away for his second victory of the season. Vince Quenneville Jr. finished second. Joey Roberts survived an early scrape with Codie Aubin to finish third, followed by Jimmy Ryan and Ron Proctor.

Canaan, NH. — The Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to the State of Vermont for the first time in five years, Friday night, July 24, when the series competes for the first time at Fair Haven’s famed Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The series last race in the Green Mountain State was May 2010, at Barre’s Thunder Road Speedbowl.
Friday’s race marks the halfway point of the season with Stafford Springs, CT, hot-shoe Woody Pitkat, riding a 34 point lead into Vermont over second place driver, Todd Patnode, of Richmond, NH, entering the Newport Chevrolet ‘100.’
WEST HAVEN, VT – History will be made at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday night, July 24, with the Newport Chevrolet-Buick-GMC 100 – the track’s inaugural event for the Valenti Modified Racing Series (VMRS). The low-slung, high-horsepower, open-wheel VMRS Modifieds will make their debut on the Rutland County half-mile oval as the headline event, in addition to four divisions from the weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere.
