WEST HAVEN, VT — Late Model stock car champion Brian Hoar of Williston, VT rolls in to Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Sunday, May 6 looking to defend his title in the historic “Spring Green” event. The 112-lap race marks the grand re-opening for the West Haven half-mile and is the third round of the American-Canadian Tour championship schedule.

Hoar took down last year’s Spring Green race, the first-ever ACT event at Devil’s Bowl, before later collecting his record eighth ACT championship. He says winning the inaugural Devil’s Bowl ACT race was a special accomplishment for his No. 37 Goss Dodge-Chrysler/RPM Racing Engines team.
“It was really cool winning at Devil’s Bowl last year. I never raced there when it was a dirt track but we got the chance last year and it was a lot of fun,” Hoar said. “I love that there’s another asphalt track in Vermont. The fact that it’s only an hour away from home makes it even more special.” (more…)
Barre, VT – Thunder Road officials have announced the return of the annual car show to the “Nation’s Site of Excitement” on Saturday, April 28. The event is scheduled for one day prior to the opening event of the 53rd Thunder Road season, the 14th Annual Merchants Bank 150, on Sunday, April 29.
All the stars of the American Canadian Tour and Thunder Road will be on hand for the car show. The event, which most recently was held in downtown Barre, will be located in the Thunder Road pit area from 10am to 12noon. Fans of all ages can check out the cars and meet their favorite drivers free of charge. The annual Pit Stop Contest will also be held in the pit area at 11am. (more…)
BRADFORD, VT — The 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series roster is filling up in a hurry as stock car drivers from many backgrounds plan to call Bradford, VT’s Bear Ridge Speedway their summer home for 21 action-filled events. New additions have been made across the board in all divisions.
The top-tier Bond Auto Parts DIRTcar Sportsman Modified division will see a strong freshman class as six-time Limited Late Model Robert Tucker of Topsham, VT moves up along with fellow Late Model standouts Richie Simmons of Bradford, VT and “Rapid” Troy Comeau of Rumney, NH. Second-generation drivers and twin brothers Jacob and Joey Scarborough of Brandon, VT have also entered the division; their father Don Scarborough was the 1997 Bear Ridge Speedway track champion. Former asphalt standout “Fast Eddie” Patterson of Websterville, VT will also make his Modified debut. Veteran Bob Shepard of West Topsham, VT also returns to the Modifieds in 2012. (more…)
Barre, VT – Thunder Road has announced that all its 2012 season pass holders will receive half price off the $18 general admission ticket to the American Canadian Tour Fall Foliage at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY on Saturday, October 6. The event will feature the 200-lap final point-counting ACT event of the season.
2012 season passes, either reserved seat gold passes or general admission passes, are good for admission to all 18 events at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement.” The 18 events of 2012 include special events such as the 50th People’s United Bank Milk Bowl, the ACT Merchants Bank season opener, the ACT Bond Auto Labor Day Classic, the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic and the Vermont Governor’s Cup. Win Two (2) 2013 Thunder Road Season Passes
Barre, VT – Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT has announced a “Milk Bowl Memories” contest as part of the season-long celebration of this year’s 50th People’s United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, September 30. The winner of the contest will receive two (2) 2013 Thunder Road General Admission season passes. Memory submissions will be accepted until Tuesday, August 21.
Contestants must complete the contest form (which can be found at www.thunderroadspeedbowl.com) with a description of their favorite memory, including the year and their age at the time of the memory. Contestants may also send photos with their memories, but are asked to send copies only as photos will not be returned. Each Wednesday from April 11th until August 22nd, a winner will be chosen and their memory will be displayed at www.thunderroadspeedbowl.com.
