Barre, VT – Thunder Road Speedbowl wraps up the month of July this Thursday, July 30 with WDEV/Calkins Portable Toilets Night. In addition to a full card of racing for all weekly divisions, the event will see the return of the semi-feature and Maplewood “Triple Crown” for the Thunder Road Late Models.

The 15-lap semi-feature will pit the top finishers in the Late Model qualifying heats against each other for bonus points and purse money. A progressive cash bonus has also been posted for any driver who can complete the Triple Crown by winning their heat, the semi-feature, and the main event in the same night. The bonus begins at $500 and increases by $100 for each event until the Triple Crown is won. The program will run for the remaining Thunder Road Thursday night schedule.

Bear Ridge Speedway Results 7/25/15

Jason Colbeth goes for a wild flip in the DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupe makeup feature and comes back to finish 6th in the regular feature for the night.

BRADFORD, VT – The Sprint Cars of New England hit the Ridge for their fourth of seven events for the year. SCoNE veterans Chris Donnelly and Jacob Williams were no challenge for the new boy in town. Scott Holcomb hailing from Conn, having run in the New York ESS series is no stranger to the wings or to Bear Ridge Speedway, competing bi-weekly in the USAC DMA Midgets. It only took Holcomb 2 weeks at the Ridge to reacquaint himself with the Wings, finishing in victory lane his last visit and taking the win dominantly this week. Donnelly finished second with Jacob Williams taking third. Will Hull and Lacey Hanson completed the top five. (more…)

Valenti Modified Racing Series Heads To Vermont’s Devil’s Bowl

gsdrserCanaan, NH. — The Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to the State of Vermont for the first time in five years, Friday night, July 24, when the series competes for the first time at Fair Haven’s famed Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The series last race in the Green Mountain State was May 2010, at Barre’s Thunder Road Speedbowl.

Friday’s race marks the halfway point of the season with Stafford Springs, CT, hot-shoe Woody Pitkat, riding a 34 point lead into Vermont over second place driver, Todd Patnode, of Richmond, NH, entering the Newport Chevrolet ‘100.’

Valenti Modified Racing Series Set for Debut at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday

VMRSWEST HAVEN, VT – History will be made at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday night, July 24, with the Newport Chevrolet-Buick-GMC 100 – the track’s inaugural event for the Valenti Modified Racing Series (VMRS). The low-slung, high-horsepower, open-wheel VMRS Modifieds will make their debut on the Rutland County half-mile oval as the headline event, in addition to four divisions from the weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere.

Times Argus Mid-Season Championships Could Make or Break Thunder Road Title Hopes

fawefaeBarre, VT – One of the most important events of the Thunder Road season goes to post this Thursday, July 23 at 6:30pm with the annual Times Argus Mid-Season Championships. Double points are on the line in all events for the Thunder Road Late Models, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen, and Allen Lumber Stocks, which means championship aspirations will be reaffirmed, re-inspired, or even crumble away by the time the final checkered flag flies.
