BRADFORD, VT – Bear Ridge Speedway celebrated Sabil & Sons Towing Old Timers Night on Saturday with hard-nosed racing, exciting finishes, and non stop action.

Rookie Jordan Fornwalt of Bradford, VT ran to the Bond Auto Parts DIRTcar Sportsman Modified win after a spirited battle with early leader Dan Eastman in the 40-lap main event. Fornwalt, the defending Limited Late Model Champion had to fend off a late charge from current point leader Chris Donnelly to secure the victory by .126 seconds. Donnelly, who started 17th, arrived on Forwalt’s back bumper with four laps remaining and finished second. Mike Gendron was third, Eastman fourth and Josh Sunn completed the top five

Stone Sweeps Devil’s Bowl Doubleheader
Bergeron, Masterson win again in Late Models
Todd Stone put an exclamation point on a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock car racing doubleheader at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday, August 23, sweeping a pair of 25-lap features in the track’s headline Bond Auto Parts Modified division. Stone was joined on the winner’s list during the Sugar & Spice Restaurant Night card by Late Model drivers Chris Bergeron and Josh Masterson, Renegade racers Stephen Donahue and Richie Turner, and Mini Stock competitors Jake Noble and Chuck Bradford.
Stone put on a passing clinic in the two main events, driving from 12th and 13th starting positions in the respective feature races. The Middlebury, VT driver was unstoppable in the opening race, driving from the back to pass Dave Snow for the lead at lap 15 and then cruising to an easy victory. Joe Williams of Scotia, NY came from seventh to take the runner-up spot, with Joey Roberts of Fletcher, VT third. Sweet Puts on a Clinic, Wins Late Model 100
Nick Sweet went home with the winner’s trophy/hardware on Aubuchon Night after a masterful performance in the Late Model 100 Friday at Thunder Road.
It was the first win of the season for the defending track champion, who came from 18th on the starting grid in the St. J Auto No. 88.
Sweet shot underneath eventual runner-up Jean-Paul Cyr for 2nd on lap 52, took the lead from Brett Gervais a lap later and then quickly drew out to a commanding advantage.

Barre, VT – Thunder Road International Speedbowl has announced the postponement of Aubuchon Hardware Night scheduled for Thursday, August 22 due to forecasted rain. The event has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Friday, August 23).
The event is the second to last of the regular Thursday night shows at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement.” Derrick O’Donnell sits atop the Late Model point standings over Nick Sweet. Sweet will have to make up some ground in the Aubuchon 100-lap feature event tomorrow to have a chance at catching O’Donnell before the “King of the Road” battle concludes next Thursday, August 29 with VP Fuels Night.
Thunder Road Late Models, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen and Allen Lumber Street Stocks will be back in action tomorrow, Friday, August 23. Qualifying will begin at 6:00 pm sharp.

Double features, spectator racing, Pancake Eating Championship on tap
WEST HAVEN, VT – The summer Friday night stock car racing season will draw to a close with a jam-packed program full of family friendly entertainment at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday, August 23 at 7:00pm. Sugar & Spice Restaurant of Mendon, VT presents double features for four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series classes, the rescheduled Spectator Races for fans driving street-legal vehicles, and the highly-anticipated second annual Great North American Pancake Eating Championship.
The Great North American Pancake Eating Championship will see racing’s hungriest fans devour as many pancakes slathered in real Vermont maple syrup from Sugar & Spice Restaurant as they can in five minutes. Inaugural winner Allen Jones of Rutland, VT pounded down a gut-busting ten-and-a-half pancakes in 2012 and said last week that he has been preparing all summer for a second-straight victory.
