Derek Griffith Dominates Claremont 125

esdsafsdClaremont, NH – Derek Griffith picked up his first career Granite State Pro Stock Series victory in dominating fashion as Claremont Speedway opened up a new chapter.

Griffith, of Hudson, NH became a quick study in his first visit to the tricky quarter-mile oval. His first laps around the speedway were some of the fastest he would turn all night, and the quickest of the 13 cars that arrived. He also led second round practice as well.

FIVE CHEVROLET SS DRIVERS EARN TOP TEN STARTING SPOTS AT RICHMOND

dgbfghfrtRICHMOND, Va. – (April 24, 2015) – Kurt Busch led the way for Team Chevy in his No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) during qualifying for Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race. His lap of 21.326 seconds (126.606 mph) was fast enough to earn him the third starting spot for the Toyota Owners 400, round 9 on the NSCS 2015 circuit. This is Busch’s third top-three start of the season.

News and Notes from the Icebreaker, Road Race Style Qualifying Day

Ken Payson's Pole Sitting Miata– John Raudat set the fast time in Group 1 qualifying, posting a 1:23.685. Raudat had not seen the 1.7 mile Road Course at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park before today’s event.

– Raudat, driving a 1999 Mazda Miata time gave him is his first Pole Award in his career.

– Raudat, from Madison, CT, is followed by youngster Matthew Chimbolo, who posted a 1:24.142. Xiang Li qualified third with time of 1:25.096.

Strong Field of Thunder Road Street Stock Racers Aim For 2015 Crown

sajkfasfaBarre, VT – The Allen Lumber Street Stock division at Thunder Road Speedbowl is guaranteed to have a different champion in 2015. Defending Champion Tommy Smith is moving up to the Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen, which opens the door for a number of contenders to ascend to the Street Stock Championship.

2014 Street Stock runner-up Alan Maynard looks to lead the charge. The Fairfax, VT driver finished in the top-10 in all 18 races. His impressive run of consistency saw him fall 10 points short of Smith. The University of Vermont associate professor returns this year with the same car and a fresh determination to capture the title.

trgbfbvNORTH STONINGTON, CT – The North East Street Stock Tour’s inaugural season is set to begin Sunday, May 17, with the Tri-Track Open Modified Series at Lee USA Speedway (NH). A talented crew of officials is hard at work to ensure that the competition is fair and the events run smoothly.

The North East Street Stock Tour (NESST), partnered with Outside the Box (OTB) Promotions, has appointed Bryon Callen to Race Director. With 15 years of experience, Callen has a diverse background, including Starter at Lee USA Speedway, and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, as well as Race Director for the Granite State Pro Stock Series.

Packard Headed to Lee USA Speedway for ACT NH Governor’s Cup 150

Magnus Racing Products Teams With Stafford Speedway to Expand Rookie of the Year Program

fasfrter(Stafford Springs, CT)—Magnus Racing Products of Danielson has joined the Stafford Motor Speedway family of partners and will offer a monetary bonus totaling $1,600 to the rookie class of 2015. The runners up in the chase for Rookie of the Year honors in each of Stafford’s five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing divisions will be eligible for the Magnus bonus. The Magnus bonus will be distributed as follows; SK Modified® and Late Model rookie runners up, $400 each, SK Light and Limited Late Model rookie runners up $300 each, and $200 to the DARE Stock rookie runner up. The Magnus bonus will be paid out in $100 weekly increments during the 2016 season to the highest eligible rookie runner up that is racing in a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series division at Stafford.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS NORTH

tgbnhyIn less than two weeks, Monadnock Speedway will be back in action hosting the traditional Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash 100. The special event season opener was delayed by two weeks due to the extended winter and mud season in the Northeast. The event will feature the first race of the season for Valenti Modified Racing Series as they compete in 100 laps around the 1/4 mile high banked track. All the speedway’s NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions will be competing along with the weekly Young Gun division, visiting NE Classic Lites and Pro 4 Modifieds. The speedway will start racing at 4pm due to all the divisions that will be present vying for opening day victories. Pit gates will open at 10am with practice starting at 1pm. General admission will open at 1pm.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS SOUTH

fasfertergdfEddie MacDonald powered the Grimm Construction/Multiple Sclerosis Society Chevrolet to a hard earned sixth place finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Pittlite 125 at Bristol Motor Speedway as a companion race with the Sprint Cup Series. The Rowley, Mass. veteran started his 183rd race in the series and took the green flag as the defending champion of last year’s event. A flat tire on lap 49 appeared to quash any hopes of repeating the win but Eddie Mac and the crew never gave up and rallied from the flat and 24th restarting position to make his patented charge to the front.
