ACT International Adds Black Cat Hell Drivers to Weekend

ACT

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) announced that the second running of the $25,000.00 to win INTERNATIONAL 300 race on Sunday, July 20 at the Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY will feature the Black Cat Hell Driver show on the eve (July 19) of the region’s largest stock car event.

“Bringing back the old-fashioned Lucky Teter, Joie Chitwood, Jack Kochman-type thrill show is a great way for the fans that are coming for the full weekend to start their fun off on Saturday night. Last year we had so much racing over two days that we felt something totally different for this year on Saturday night might be better for the whole family,” said Tom Curley, promoter of the biggest event of the ACT race season.

The Black Cat Hell Drivers are billed as the only traveling stunt show in the United States. Featuring pyrotechnics, clowns, motorcycles, crashes and two wheel drives among their stunts, many of the Hell Drivers performed with some of the nation’s best known shows mentioned above.

The INTERNATIONAL for the American Canadian Tour Late Model teams has posted awards of nearly one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), with the winner’s share a guaranteed twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00). The defending 2013 inaugural INTERNATIONAL winner, Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. (Pole), from Hudson, New Hampshire said, “This is looking like a really fun weekend for our team. I like the one day format, and having some time to enjoy Saturday night sounds like a great time. My guess is that there will be as much action on the track Sunday during the INTERNATIONAL as the Hell Drivers will give us on Saturday night, but I guess time will tell. I am really looking forward to it because Airborne certainly has been good to me in recent years.”

The best ACT Late Model drivers from the eastern United States and Quebec will be at Airborne Speedway. They will be joined by the Sportsman Modified division, who will run a special 50-lap event. Also joining the card on Sunday will be the Pro Cam Truck division from Quebec, sanctioned by ACT. The Thunder Road Tiger Division will also run a double segment race monza-style event during the Sunday INTERNATIONAL .

Admission for the Saturday, July 19th Black Cat Hell Driver show is just $10 for adults and kids age 6-12 are just $3 dollars. A family price of just $20 will get two adults and two kids in to see the Hell Drivers’ show on Saturday night, beginning at8:00pm. The INTERNATIONAL tickets are now on sale for a limited number of top row seats in the main grandstand.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS SOUTH July 2, 2014

By Lou Modestino

Over the last three seasons at Stafford Motor Speedway, Doug Coby has had a stranglehold on victory lane in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour competition.  Coby has won half of the 10 NWMT races run at Stafford since the start of the 2012 season, but he hasn’t been able to win an SK Modified® feature at Stafford since reuniting with car owner Glenn Johnson.  Coby recorded six podium finishes last season with 3 second and 3 third place efforts, but he came up short in the win column.  Coby is again knocking on the door to NAPA Victory Lane this season and he feels like a win could be right around the corner for the #15 team.

For Cromwell native Eric Berndt and the #66 Cos’ Central Auto SK Modified® team, the 2014 season has been trending in the right direction for them just in time to carry a ton of positive momentum into the July 4th NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k.  Berndt encountered some issues in the season opening NAPA Spring Sizzler feature, but in the three races since then he has two fifth place finishes and he nearly won the June 6th feature, coming home second to Ryan Preece.

Firecracker 125 Bringing Out The Best In PASS At Greenville-PickensCHARLOTTE, NC (July 1) – Since the first edition held back in 2006, the Firecracker 125 has always seemed to bring out the best when it comes to the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model division. And, this year’s race appears to be no different, with a star studded group of drivers already pre-entered for the special Thursday night show at the legendary Greenville-Pickens Speedway in South Carolina which will be capped off by a huge Freestyle Motorcycle Spectacular.

The Firecracker 125 has been a mainstay on the PASS South Super Late Model schedule and returns to Greenville-Pickens Speedway where it was held from 2008-2010. 6/28/14 Beech Ridge Results

Scarborough, ME

Windham’s Corey Bubar took the victory in the Pro Series 125 Saturday night, in a dominating performance. Bubar led most of the extended race and went on to be the first repeat winner in the Pro Series division.

After capturing the pole spot in qualifying, Bubar led the 25-car field to the green flag. Bubar led until a early race caution bunched the field back together. On the restart, Bubar faced Charlie Colby, of Newcastle. After battling side-by-side for a few laps, Colby was able to edge Bubar going into the first turn to capture the lead. Colby opened up a two car-length advantage over Bubar, but a caution on lap 26 set the two up for battle again.

Colby chose the outside leaders lane choice giving Bubar the inside groove. Bubar was able to pass Colby coming out of the fourth turn to regain the lead. Veteran Bryan Kruczek, of New Market, NH, started to charge his way to the front. By lap 30, Kruczek had passed Colby and set his sights on Bubar. On lap 39, Kruczek passed Bubar with ease and opened up a five car length advantage.
